"My Mother the Mermaid" is a bittersweet look at the past and present of one Cheju Island couple's romance. Na-young (Jeon Do-hyun) gets a chance to go back in time to when her parents met for the first time. The young woman finds her parents of 30 years ago to be in complete contrast to the bitter and hopeless individuals they've become. With melancholy knowledge of how it will turn out, she watches as her mother Yon-sun (also Jeon), a naive but perpetually positive diver living in a small village, and her father Jin-guk (Park Hae-il), a handsome and charming postman, take their first steps towards love. Jeon, who also starred in last year's "Untold Scandal" puts on an impressive performance in the dual role of mother and daughter. Cine Core theater is located near Chonggak Station on subway line 1.
