'The Royal Gambler' reveals Jang Keun-suk's still images from his first take

SBS has allotted the airtime of Monday & Tuesday dramas to period dramas for the second time in a row. While 'Six Flying Dragons' has been keeping its first place of viewership rating securely, a new period drama will begin on March 28th.

"The Royal Gambler" depicts a big match between a forgotten prince, Dae-gil (Jang Keun-suk) and his younger brother Prince Yeonying over the throne, life and love.

The bold storyline putting the match at the frontline of the drama, the sturdy structure of story, the historical background as well as the history based fiction boosted by the writer's imagination, and finally the cast of the famous and powerful actors make "The Royal Gambler" the most anticipated drama in the first of this year.

Jang Keun-suk's comeback to the small screen in two years also raises the level of anticipation. On March 14th, "The Royal Gambler" production team has unveiled the still images of Jang Keun-suk from his first take, who transformed into the forgotten prince, Dae-gil.

In the revealed images, Jang Keun-suk (Dae-gil) is facing someone, whose identity is unknown, in a snow falling field. His clothing in the dark neutral color palette, and the straw hat covering his forehead, and the two blades aiming his neck right underneath his chin explain Dae-gils' turbulent life.

The "The Royal Gambler" production team said, "Jang Keun-suk already amazed the production team during the first script reading by showing off his skills to bring his character to life. Jang Keun-suk's potential as a great actor also shined during the first take without any reserve. Jang Keun-suk's actin performance by transforming himselfe into Dae-gil completely kept the production team breathless.
