Yoo Ji-tae will direct his first feature film called "Sansevieria", a rites-of-passage movie about a young boy. Shooting is scheduled to begin in January, with casting now ongoing.
The model-turned-actor, who played the villains in both "Old Boy" and "Midnight FM", has already directed several short films that were received favorably by fans and critics alike.
He recently signed a contract with major film investor and distributor Lotte Entertainment to produce and distribute the new film.
Meanwhile, the actor is due to wed actress Kim Hyo-jin at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul on Dec. 2.
