Capital Scandal OST (KBS TV Drama)

Based on a Lee Sun Mi novel, KBS drama Capital Scandal is set in the decadence and turbulence of 1930s Korea when the country was under Japanese rule. Kang Ji Hwan (90 Days of Love) stars as a young man from a wealthy family who becomes involved in the independence movement, while Ryu Jin (Summer Scent) plays an elite government official. Actresses Han Ji Min (Super Rookie Ranger) and Han Go Eun (Lawyers) capture the other ends of the spectrum as an independent-minded woman and a famous gisaeng, respectively, highlighting the changing atmosphere of the times.

The Capital Scandal OST recreates the aura of the era with a bustling mix of swing, jazz, blues, and classical. Eru sings the finger-snapping theme song "Kyungsung Scandal" (Track 1), a lively jazz cabaret number, complete with rousing brass instrumentation, that fits perfectly with the drama's period setting. The soundtrack also includes songs from Jeon So Young, Woong Sang, Yeon Woo, and Lee Shin Sung.

이루와 재즈의 기막힌 만남..새로운 영역의 하모니!

KBS 수목 드라마 <마왕> 의 후속 작품인 <경성 스캔들>은 1930년대 경성을 무대로 암울했던
시대의 항일 무장 투쟁사를 그릴 작품인데 특이한 것은 이전 동시대를 배경으로 한 다른 작품들과는 달리 진중한 무게와 시대적 고민보다는 발랄하고 유쾌한, 마치 현대의 로맨틱 코미디 같은 분위기로 그려진다. 항일투쟁이라는 다소 무거운 주제에 청춘 로맨스라는 가볍고 상큼한 옷을 입힌 격이다. 일종의 ‘퓨전 시대극’이다.

이번 "경성 스켄들" OST는 드라마<풀하우스> <달자의 봄> <부활> OST 등의 히트작 메이커인 지평권 감독이 이끌고 있어 더욱더 눈길을 끈다. 또한 “까만안경” “흰눈”등 발라드로 대성공을 거둔 이루와 연우, 국내보다 일본에서 더 유명한 재즈 가수인 웅산, 전소영, Jay 등 많은 재즈 가수들이 이번 OST에 참여 하였다. 이루는 <경성 스캔들 OST>에서 빅밴드와 경쾌한 스윙풍이 돋보이는 타이틀곡인 “경성 스캔들” 을 불렀으며, 타이틀곡인 “경성 스캔들”의 컨셉트는 “이루와 재즈와의 만남”이다. <경성 스캔들>는 이제까지 알려지지 않았던 '모던보이' '모던걸'들을 감각적으로 그려내는 만큼 OST 또한 1930년대 모던풍을 보여주는 감각적인 스윙재즈로 구성된다.
