Retired army officer Na Yang Pal (Park In Hwan, Money's Warfare) has raised his four daughters the only way he knows how: the military way. Having been exposed to military-style training and disciplinary rules all their lives, one would think these girls would be ready for anything in life - but not so. As Yang Pal finds out, no training will ever prepare his girls for the many uncertainties life has to offer. The first daughter Duk Chil (Kim Hye Seon, First Wives Club) is married, but soon divorces her husband after he finds out that she engaged in a one night stand with another man.

Then there's Yang Pal's pride and joy, second daughter Seol Chil (Lee Tae Ran), who has always assumed the role of a son, even enrolling in a military school just like her dad. Unlike Seol Chil, her fraternal twin sister Mi Chil (Choi Jeong Won) spends money like water on designer clothes and luxury items. The twins' rivalry reaches its peak when Mi Chil steals her twin sister's boyfriend (Ko Joo Won). Last but not least, baby of the family Jong Chil (Shin Ji Soo), who got pregnant at a young age, cannot seem to make peace with her difficult in-laws. Exploring the growing pains of four young women, Famous Princesses illustrates just why family matters in life.

“Famous Princesses” is a story about four sisters, Deok-chil, Seol-chil, Mi-chil and Jong-chil, whose father is a retired military man. This humorous drama depicts the real-life stories of today’s families, eliciting both laughter and tears from its viewers. The life of the oldest sister, Deok-chil, whose unloving husband divorces her, shows problems facing remarried couples. The upbeat and confident second sister, Seol-chil, plays the role of a son to her parents and ends up fighting for love against her younger sister, the pretty but selfish Mi-chil, who is the family’s troublemaker. Finally, the youngest of the sisters, Jong-chil, becomes pregnant and marries her boyfriend at a tender age, facing numerous conflicts with her in-laws.
