The 3rd Global Culture Industry Forum will be held in Seoul on Oct. 26 and 27 jointly by the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) and the Federation of Korean Industries.
The forum will bring leaders of the culture industry from nine nations--including the U.S., Germany, China and Japan--together to talk about the present and future of the cultural content business under the theme of the "New Formula Global Culture: Asian Contents Business + α".
A total of 27 panelists will give presentations and hold discussions over five sessions. Michael Hong, the president of U.S'.s Imagine Asia TV, will demonstrate a simulation of Korea businesses entering the U.S. media market under the topic of obstacles that minority channels face in the U.S. market. Zhu Yong De, a director from the promotion center of Chinese films, will deliver a presentation on the current status of the Chinese film market and foreign investment in China, and Zhang Myungzhi, the vice chairman of the production committee of the Chinese TV association, will speak on exchange and joint ventures between Korea and China.
Special speeches will also be given on four topics including the prospects of the Asian culture industry by Wang Guo Hua, the president of the Chinese daily Takungpao, and the effects of digitalization on content distribution in Europe by Johannes Mohn, the vice chairman of Germany's leading media group, Bertelsmann.
Other participants will include Malaysian actress Tiara Jacquelina, and Nihalani Pahlaj, the president of the Indian film and media producer association. Attending the forum from Korea are Park Beom-hoon, the president of Chung Ang University; Kim Hong-jun, the head of the School of Film and Multimedia at the Korea National University of Arts; Cha Seung-jae, the president of Cidus FNH; Kim Dong-joo, the president of Showeast; and Choi Jung-hwan, the president of the Korean Entertainment Law Society.
