| Like Forrest Gump or Korea's own Marathon and Herb, 2006 KBS drama Hello God! revolves around a mentally challenged protagonist in search of love, depicting the ups and downs of his journey in a sensitive, light-hearted manner. Often compared to Won Bin in appearances, rising actor Yoo Gun, recently seen in the film Operation Makeover, takes up his first leading role here alongside starlet Kim Ok Bin (Over the Rainbow), with whom he also collaborated in Dasepo Naughty Girls. Balancing the fresh young stars is the experienced pairing of director Ji Young Soo and screenwriter Kang Eun Kyung, whose works include Glass Slippers, Hotelier, and Spring of Dalja.
With an IQ of only 65, 27-year-old Haru (Yoo Gun) is a cheerful, kind-hearted soul perpetually overlooked by society. Years ago, his mother abandoned him at a bus stop, and since then, his simple dream has been to become a bus driver. He falls in love with beautiful young con artist Eun Hye (Kim Ok Bin), and sadly realizes that romance is near unattainable for a man with the heart of a seven-year-old. Haru decides to undergo a dangerous brain surgery to increase his intelligence, but can a couple more IQ points really bring him love and happiness?
