For the first time in 15 years, HMX Donga TV Inc. is revamping its corporate identity, name and programming.
HMX Donga TV Inc. relaunched with the new name CH Donga on March 1. The local cable TV channel has replaced over 70 percent of its format, focusing on diversifying its genres and strengthening its foreign programming.
Originally known for its fashion and beauty programs, HMX Donga has decided to add cooking, fitness, learning and entertainment to the mix. The goal? To create a high-quality women's lifestyle channel.
And in celebration of its makeover, HMX Donga has created a brand new slogan: "Celebrate Your Life!" Aiming this catchphrase at its target audience -- career women aged 25 to 35 -- HMX Donga hopes to draw in more female viewers.
A revamped pink and violet channel logo featuring a woman's profile is just one of the things HMX Donga is doing to attract this new target audience. A new program line-up featuring witches, princesses, hot spas and quick cooking fixes are the main attraction.
Here are just a few of the new shows to be hitting TV screens nationwide this month.
Twelve American women compete for $50,000 and a real British title in the makeover show "American Princess".
Three sisters unleash their magical powers to become the most powerful witches alive in the hit series "Charmed", starring former "Beverly Hills 90210" star Shannen Doherty.
Celebrity cooking host Rachel Ray shows busy career women how to whip up a tasty meal in 30 minutes in her hit show "30 Minute Meals with Rachel Ray".
And women looking for a getaway spa retreat can check out the hottest and most relaxing spas in "Spa Seekers".
HMX Donga is also starting its own TV series. Titled "Wannabe Sommelier", this wine-oriented show is in the making and will be hitting screens Friday at 11 p.m.
Founded in 1992, HMX Donga has made its mark in the cable industry by taking risks.
In 2002, it aired the hit sitcom "Friends", upping viewer ratings. And in 2004 it drew in more viewers with its Paris, Milan and New York fashion collections.
