The story of Ice Girl unfolds through the eyes of a young woman who leaps through time - 25 years to be exact - via the magic of cryogenics. Kim Hyo Jin (Magic) returns to the small screen to play So Ryeong, who is brought back to life after 25 years of cryogenic suspension and faces a major crisis in her love life. Playing her love interests are up-and-coming heartthrob Kim Nam Jin (New Wise Mother, Good Wife) and the late Kim Joo Seong (The Youth In Bare Foot), who unfortunately died of pancreatic cancer in early August of 2007. Ice Girl was his very last acting performance.

The story begins in 1979. College student So Ryeong (Kim Hyo Jin) is making the final preparations for her imminent marriage to sweetheart Ha Rok (Kim Joo Seong) when she suddenly suffers a freak heart attack. Desperate to save his 21-year-old daughter's life, So Ryeong's father, Dr. Kim, takes her body and freezes her until he can find a donor and give her the heart transplant necessary to save her life. Twenty-five years later, a donor is found and So Ryeong is revived - in 2005. Unfortunately, when she meets her fiance again, she can not remember him, but takes an immediate liking to his son! Now in his forties, Ha Rok is not about to let his first love slip away for the second time as waves of long forgotten passion ripple through his heart. Meanwhile, his young, energetic son Min Jae (Kim Nam Jin) finds himself in the delicate predicament of falling in love with the same woman as his father.

1979년. 후미진 영화관. 의과 대학생인 하록은 영화 속 대사를 따라 속삭이는 한 여자를 발견한다. 문득 돌린 하록의 시선을 한번에 사로잡는 여자, 소령이다. 격동의 시절, 그들의 사랑은 그렇게 시작된다. 그러나 고아에다가 영화에 빠져 의대마저 포기하려는 하록과 전도유망한 연구원이자 교수인 김 박사의 외동딸 소령과의 사랑이 그리 순탄치만은 않다. 우여곡절 끝에 잡힌, 어린 신랑신부의 결혼식. 그러나 서로에게 전부가 되어버린 그들의 해피엔딩에 거역할 수 없는 재앙이 들이닥친다. 심장병으로 인한 소령의 죽음.

미국에서 인체냉동보존에 대한 연구를 하던 김 박사는 76년, 정권의 지시로 비밀리에 인간 생명연장 프로젝트를 진행하고 있었으나 대통령의 피살 이후 프로젝트 중단을 명령받았다. 그러나 하나뿐인 딸 소령의 죽음은 그로 하여금 중단된 실험을 무모하게 시도하도록 만드는데..
