RYOO Jang-ha's comeback stars YOO Ji-tae and LEE Yeon-hee

Director/writer RYOO Jang-ha makes his comeback after his 2004 "Springtime" (Kkotbineun Bomi Omyeon) featuring CHOI Min-sik, with the romantic drama Soonjeongmanwha (English translation: "pure comic strip") starring YOO Ji-tae and LEE Yeon-hee.

The film's about a thirty-year-old office employee and a female student who run into each other every morning at an elevator. Both are secretly in love with each other.

Filming commenced on the first day of April. The film is scheduled for a release in the fall. The romantic drama is produced by Let's Film.

YOO Ji-tae played CHOI Min-sik's character's nemesis in PARK Chan-wook's "Old Boy". He also starred in the period piece "Hwangjin-y - Movie - 2007" and HONG Sang-soo's "Woman is the Future of Man" (Yojaneun Namjaui Miraeda). In addition, YOO directs short films.

Britain's The Times – 'Poet of Blood' Park Chan-wook has changed

The British press is focusing on Director Park Chan-wook, who is awaiting the British premiere of "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK" on the 4th.

Britain's daily magazine The Times stated through an interview with Director Park that the "poet of blood has changed his productions to love stories".

"I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK" is about two mental hospital patients, played by "Rain" and Im Soo-jeong. It seems The Times has called Director Park the 'poet of blood' because of his bloody revenge stories, "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance", "Old Boy", and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance".

In the article, The Times stated, "Director Park's "Old Boy" was at the center of attention after Cho Seung-hui, who committed the Virginia Tech killings, sent a picture of him holding a hammer to a television station".

Star siblings, different as sun and shade

If there is shade, there is also a sunny spot. The entertainment industry also has its share of light and shade. It is especially prominent where siblings are both in the industry.

Top stars including Jeon Do-yeon, Choi Min-sik, Song Kang-ho, and Seol Kyeong-gu are emerging as saviors of Korean movies. From blockbuster hits to cinematographic movies, they aim to revitalize various genres this summer.

Jeon Do-yeon, who received the Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actress for "Secret Sunshine" is working hard to finish filming "A Fine Day".

This movie is about an unemployed, single woman in her thirties who meets an ex-boyfriend and embarks on an adventure for a day.

She acts with Ha Jeong-woo, who is raising stock prices with this year's best movie, "The Chaser".

As soon as filming ends at the end of this month, they will go into the latter half of production.

Charlize Theron to remake "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance"

Director PARK Chan-wook is admired nationally and globally. Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron is also one of them. According to The Boston Globe who interviewed the former model, Theron will produce and star in a remake of "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", PARK's final instalment of the famed vengeance trilogy.

"Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" won in 2005 two awards at the Venice Film Festival, the CinemAwenire and the Little Golden Lion, and Korea's leading Blue Dragon Award for best film, among others. LEE Young-ae plays a framed convict who meticulously plans her revenge while keeping up a charming and friendly demeanour. Her ultimate goal is revenge on CHOI Min-sik's character. CHOI himself went on a revenge rampage in "Old Boy", which earned PARK the Grand Prix at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
