Various origins of female stars… 'Miss Korea' group falters

On a breezy spring day in March 2008, the entertainment investigation team of Sports Khan sensed an emergency. The argument between female stars about their influence has become fierce, almost to the point of battle. Accordingly, under the supervision of Detective Choi, the entertainment investigation team had a briefing on the 'Map of Various Powerful Female Stars'. A record of the questions and answers from the briefing are provided.

Detective Choi: As you all know, we've gathered here to discuss the toppling balance of the influence of top female celebrities. Firstly, the 'super model' group has almost taken over the 'Miss Korea' group and has become the 'big sister' of the entertainment industry. Also, the new 'internet beauty' group is extended its boundaries. Contrary to these changes, the 'horror story' group is still steadily on the top.

3 New Weekend Dramas to Air

All three major television networks will start new weekend dramas for the entire family in February.

KBS will air "Mom's Dead Upset", which deals with four-generations living together and the various incidents resulting from generation gaps. MBC will air "A Beauty Unmatched, Park Jeong-geum", about a divorced single mom, while SBS will air "I Am Happy", about a happily married couple.

The first episode of "Mom's Dead Upset" will air at 7:55 p.m., Feb. 2. Written by Kim Su-hyun, the hit maker who wrote for dramas such as "My Man's Woman" (SBS, 2007), "Love and Ambition" (SBS, 2006) and "Trap of Youth" (SBS, 1999), the drama's expectations are high.

The drama features powerful actors and actresses. Han Go-eun Impressive in Charity Participation

Actress Han Go-eun has impressed TV audiences by appearing in the KBS' charity concert "Love -- Story 3".

The concert, which marked Human Rights Day, showed Han visiting a teenage girl in Indonesia who lives a life of toil to help her physically challenged parents.

Wearing no makeup whatsoever, Han squatted down with the girl under the scorching sunshine in Jakarta to help her crack open clams. Han also cooked ramen noodles for the girl's family.

The actress says the trip had taught her that any kind of sympathy, be it material or spiritual, brings enormous joy, and that she hopes more people will share their hopes and dreams with their needy neighbors in the global village....| More

Kang Ji-hwan, Han Ji-min cast as main leads for 'Gyeong Seong (Capital) Scandal'

Kang Ji-hwan and Han Ji-min have been cast to the upcoming KBS drama series 'Gyeong Seong Scandal'.

This series which will start airing on June 6th is the story of Gyeong Seong, the capital of the day, in the 1930s in a fusion historical drama format focusing on those rebelling against the Japanese government with a line of romance drawn in a bright and cheerful spirit.

Kang Ji-hwan will play Seon Woo Wan, the greatest playboy in Gyeong Seong, while Han Ji-min will draw Na Yeo Gyeong, a not so traditional female figure. Ryoo Jin will play the elite Lee Soo Hyeon who as a Chosun person rises amongst the ranks in the government while Han Go-eun will play the famous bar hostess Cha Song Joo of one of the top class restaurants.

The script is being written by Jin Soo-wan who also wrote 'Wonderful Life' and 'My 19 Year Old Sister in Law', and will be directed by Producer Han Joon-seo of 'Runaway Lee Doo Young' which aired last year....| More

Supermodel-Turned-Actresses Taking Over Airwaves

Supermodel-turned-actresses are becoming a hot topic again. There are around 10 former models working as actresses: Kim Seon-ah, Song Seon-Mi, Han Go-eun, Han Ye-seul, Han Ji-hye , Hyeon Yeong, Choi Yeo-jin, lee Hwa-seon, Jo Hyang-gi, Yoon Ji-min. By any standards, they lead the entertainment industry.

Kim Seon-ah and Song Seon-mi have jumped to stardom by way of various projects, while Choi Yeo-jin and and Han Ji-hye have won fans for the way that they completely transform themselves into whatever roles they play. Hyeon Yeong and Jo Hyang-gi have been busy in various entertainment programs and TV dramas, while Lee Hwa-seon has turned heads with not just her acting skills but her car racing as well. Kim Sae-rom also announced her intentions to make forays into the acting world. The result can be seen in living rooms sometime next year.
