"Jungle Fish" accuses realities of entrance exams

KBS will be airing the special reality youth drama "Jungle Fish" for 'family month'.

A jungle fish is a fish that lived in the African beach but was dropped into the jungle by a whirlwind. It hints at the situation of present-day youth who suffer from entrance exams to return to the beach (the future).

The drama will reenact last year's scandal of leaked test forms for Gimpo Foreign Language High School's and this year's scandal of leaked problems for the national scholastic assessment test.

The form of the drama is solving the scandal with a personal blog. It will also be like a documentary, using real clips from news and internet videos, and street interviews.

Park Bo-yeong, who was the younger version of Koo Hye-seon in SBS "King and I" and Min-ji of the movie "Forever the Moment" will star. Hwang Chan-seong from MBC sitcom "High Kick!" and singer Kim C will also join.

It will air early May.

New Singers to Watch for in 2008

Idol groups such as the Wonder Girls, Big Bang and Girls' Generation dominated the pop charts last year. This power of youngsters in the Korean pop music industry will likely to continue this year, steered by the big entertainment companies.

Amid the overall slump in the K-pop industry, JYP, the entertainment company run by singer-producer Park Jin-young, hopes for another successful year.

Referred to as "the jewel of JYP", Joo is certainly the most prominent new face of the year.

Joo participated in SBS's talent show "Super Star Survival" (2006) in collaboration with JYP. Though not the winner of the show, she got into the training program at JYP.

Since JYP has produced many hit singers such as G.O.D, "Rain" and Wonder Girls, expectations on Joo were high even before her debut.
