Playwright/film director Jang Jin will set up a theatrical company next year based on his existing troupe Suda. He will also launch a licensing business and introduce previous and new works of his as well as adaptations of foreign plays.
Suda consists of over 20 members, including a number of A-class actors such as Jeong Jae-yeong, Shin Ha-gyoon, Jeong Gyoo-soo and Lee Yong-i, and a large production crew.
Jang says that through his new theatrical company, he wants to establish a framework to facilitate planning works in the medium to long term, and to combine film with theater.
He also added that Suda, a widely acclaimed brand in Korea, will be in charge of theater plays and performances, while his other firm, Filmitsuda, will take charge of films.
