Yoo Ha's searing crime melodrama deserves kudos

Byung-Doo, lanky and adorable, (played by TV drama star Jo In-Seong from "Something Happened in Bali") is a 29-year-old career criminal working for the middle-rank enforcer Sang-Chul (Yoon Je-Moon, a Molotov-cocktail-loving vagrant in "The Host"). Burdened with a terminally ill mother and taking care of younger siblings, Byung-Doo is feeling financial pressure as a substitute patriarch. When the big boss President Hwang (Cheon Ho-Jin, "The Big Swindle", "Crying Fist") is cornered by a corrupt prosecutor, Byung-Doo volunteers for a whack job and wins the man's trust. However, his real trouble begins when friend Min-Ho (Nam Goong-min), an aspiring movie director, asks him to be a "consultant" for the latter's debut film, a gangster epic not unlike "Dirty Carnival".

Ha Jeong-woo - Kim Hye-soo, 1st for this year's 'wonderful face'

Photographers picked Ha Jeong-woo and Kim Hye-soo for having the most 'wonderful face'.

The movie entertainment weekly magazine Movie Week held its annual 'Wonderful Face 25', and the two were the top two males and females. It is Ha Jeong-woo's first time, and it is Kim Hye-soo's second time after 2006.

The order is determined by Korea's photographers and photo reporters, who see the stars' faces closest. Movie Week asked them to pick three males and three females who had a 'wonderful face for a subject for photography'.

This year, Jeong Ryeo-won was second, Jeon Do-yeon was third, Im Soo-jeong was fourth, and Kim Min-hee was fifth. Han Ye-seul, Kim Min-seon, Han Ji-min, Han Chae-young, Lee Yeon-hee, Bae Doona, Son Ye-jin, and Kim Tae-hee were also picked. For men, Jang Dong-gun was second, Jo In-Seong was third, Cha Seung-won was fourth, and Jo Seung-woo was fifth. There are many stars who have various talents, and there are many black-belt holders in the entertainment industry.

Kim Ok-bin is a second degree.

Also, Eric Moon and Son Seong-hee, Dong Bang Shin Ki's Xiah Junsu and Yunho, Hyeon Bin and Ko Soo, even Seo Tai-ji are second degrees.

Won Bin is also a third degree.

Female stars Hwang Bo and Kim Hye-soo are third degrees. Isn't it a little unexpected?

Jang Woo-hyuk, Im Chang-jeong, Kim Bo-seong, and Jo In-Seong are third degrees, and Shin Hye-sung and Choi Ji-won are fourth degrees, and anyone can acknowledge their skill.

KWAK Jae-yong's "Cyborg Girl" in ten countries

"My Sassy Girl" (Yeopgijeokin Geunyeo) director KWAK Jae-yong's latest film "Cyborg Girl" will be cinematically released in ten countries, including Korea. The romantic comedy is a Japanese production and stars the Japanese actors Ayase Haruki and Koide Keisuke in the leading roles.

"Cyborg Girl" will kick off its grand international tour in Japan on May 31. KWAK wrote and directed the romantic film. The big budget film includes several special effects laden scenes.

Ayase Haruki plays the titular cyborg girl who becomes involved with an earthly university student, portrayed by Koide Keisuke. Cyborg Girl is somewhat quintessentially KWAK as the sci-fi film features a dominant (cyborg) girl who doesn't hesitate to use physical force against the man of her affection, similar to "My Sassy Girl".
