Actors of 'Likeable or Not' Say Being 'Lovey-Dovey' is Fun

Actor Kim Ji-seok-I I and actress Han Ji-hye, who appear in the primetime drama 'Likeable or Not' on KBS, are demonstrating to viewers the essence of a "lovey-dovey" couple.

In the drama, the two characters that the actors play have always had feelings for each other but felt awkward expressing them because not only are they in-laws, but Nah Dan-pung (Han Ji-hye)'s ex-boyfriend is Kang Baek-ho (Kim Ji-seok-I)'s close friend. However, the two recently decided to follow their hearts and show the world how much they are in love.

Kim said that because the two characters were constantly fighting despite their feelings for each other, viewers were beginning to get tired of the whole game and even went as far as to say that the two characters should never date. The actor added that the viewers can get a chance to see the couple together at last.

Adding that the love story has nearly reached its climax, the actor promised to work hard to deliver a good performance until the very end....| More

KBS Daily Series Top 40% Ratings

The KBS daily drama series 'Likable or Not' starring Han Ji-hye and Kim Ji-seok-I has reached 40% in ratings.

In a TNS Media Korea and AGB Nielsen Media survey, the ratings topped 40%, the highest yet in a self-commissioned poll and the highest among programs on all channels in the same time slot.

The drama centers on families involving remarriage in an aim to underline familial value.

More Foreign Faces in Korean Dramas

Perhaps a reflection of the growing awareness of an increasingly multiracial Korea, a growing number of foreign faces are appearing on Korean television. More and more Korean dramas are casting foreign-born actors and actresses, although in supporting roles.

In recent years, hunky actors like Daniel Henney and Dennis O, who are partly Korean, have won the hearts of fans, even though they can barely speak Korean.

Now, it's the turn of good-looking and fluent Korean speakers like exotic British-Japanese Eva Popiel and blonde Belgian Julian Quintart to make a splash on the entertainment scene.

PIFF summit fosters Asian movie industry

This year, the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) launched its "Star Summit Asia", in which promising Asian actors get to introduce themselves to film producers in the hope of receiving role offers in their films. The event is the first of its kind in Busan, or anywhere in the world. For the actors, this opens doors to Asian markets outside their home countries, and for the producers, it will provide a natural meeting ground to get a feel for foreign actors and actresses.
Nineteen actors and actresses, including Hwang Jeong-min and Jang Jin-yeong from Korea, along with others from Japan, China, Thailand and Vietnam, are scheduled to participate.
"Curtain Call", the first part of the summit, featured nine actors and actresses from Korea, China, Japan and Vietnam, who have notoriety outside their respective countries.
