Soo: Hard-hitting film by CHOI Yang-il (SAI Yoichi)

Korean-Japanese director CHOI Yang-il, known in Japan as SAI Yoichi, is in town with his first film made entirely in Korea with a Korean cast. "Soo", is a hard-boiled revenge-thriller about a man, Tae-su, who witnesses the killing of his identical twin brother Tae-jin. Recovering from the trauma, he sets out to cold-bloodedly avenge his brother's murder in a grisly, exacting fashion.

Actor JI Jin-Hee ("Bewitching Attraction", 2006) in his first action picture, takes up the challenge of playing both roles as the twin brothers. Also starring are KANG Seong-yeon ("The King and the Clown", 2005) MOON Seong-geun ("Princess Aurora", 2005, "Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors" 2000), LEE KI-young ("Marathon", 2005) and OH Man-seok ("A Cruel Attendance", 2006).

"The Palace" Season II gets a new name

The new drama by Director Hwang In-Roi, "The Palace II" ("Princess Hours 2")got itself a new name: "The Palace S" ("Prince Hours").

"To put the copyrights issue out of our way, we need a new title for our drama, which will also have a new cast and a new story", said GROUP 8, the producer of "The Palace S" ("Prince Hours"), whose separation from Eight Peaks generated a copyrights issue because of the similarity of its new drama's title and cast to those of the original. To resolve the issue, GROUP 8 decided to come up with another drama, which will only use "The Palace" as a backdrop but will still showcase Korea as a constitutional monarchy.

"The Palace S" ("Prince Hours") means "a new start, a special story, a spin-off (the content of the new drama will be different from that of the original), and the secret surrounding the bloodline of the hero, who will be played by Se7en.

Well-Paced `Marathon' Is Heartwarming Race

The new film "Marathon" is a "feel good" film in the best sense of the word. A tender human drama about an autistic man with a passion for running, the film succeeds in showing the social realities of being mentally challenged and the drive to overcome one's obstacles.

"Marathon" stars Jo Seung-woo, who has received numerous accolades of late for his lead performance in the musical "Jekyll and Hyde." Cho does another excellent job here as Cho-won, a 20-year-old autistic man with a pair of tireless legs. While not quite on the level of Dustin Hoffman's performance in "Rain Man," Cho's portrayal of autism is credible and soulful and is the steady anchor of the film.

The movie "Mal-ah-ton - Marathon" is about an autistic man's triumph as a human. The movie softly wakens a forgotten, subtle, and yet important sense. It is the sense of touch. The movie tickles its audience. Grass that touches past your fingertips, heartbeats that you can feel through your palm, winds that blow past your eyes, and raindrops that lightly pound your forehead.... The source of influence and sensation of the film is that it makes you once again feel the greatness and beauty of those small things. Like Cho-won, the autistic runner in the movie, says, the senses we get by touching those things make our hearts "beat". The story is amusing, amusing on account of being amusing, sad on account of being humorous, and deeply touching on account of being sad.
