Directed by E J-yong (Lee Jae-yong), the film is an adaptation of popular Internet comic series with the same title. Set in a high school, the film tells a story of students and teachers with strange characteristics.

It takes place in Museulmo High School, whose tradition allows its students and teachers to enjoy free sexual relations. When a substitute teacher announces that their original English teacher is off school early for treatment of a venereal disease, he kindly advises one of female students in the class to go see a doctor, and other girls and boys in the class suddenly urge him to let them see a doctor for the same reason.

The film is full of unrealistic and obscene jokes, created from the strange setting. It doesn't follow the usual steps of a story's development, but focuses on each character's story.

'Dasepo' Invited to Berlinale Fest

"Dasaepo Naughty Girls" ("Dasepo Girl") ( Tasepo Sonyo), an unconventional high school comedy directed by Lee Jae-young, has been invited to the prestigious 57th Berlin International Film Festival in February next year.

The film, based on a popular Internet comic by Chae Jung-taek or better known by his penname B-rate Dal-gung, will be screened at the Panorama section of the Berlinale. The film festival will run Feb.8-18.

E's film, which stars young actors such as Kim Ok-bin, Park Jin-woo and "Lee Kyeon", is about high school students and teachers who enjoy free sexual relations portrayed with colorful and quirky images.

This is the second time E's film has been invited to the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival. His film "Untold Scandal", which stars Bae Yong-joon and Jeon Do-youn, was shown at the 2004 film festival.

Love and sex in unconventional relationships and settings has been the main motifs of director Lee Jae-yong's films.

His 1998 film "An Affair" told the story of a tragic love between a married woman and her sister's fiancee. His 2003 hit historical piece "Untold Scandal" set in the Choson Kingdom revolved around a playboy from a noble family who meets a fatal love.

His favorite theme has gotten more experimental and twisted and contains wackier elements in his upcoming film "Dasepo Naughty Girls (Tasepo Sonyo)" ("Dasepo Girl"). Set in a high school, the film tells a story of students and teachers who enjoy free sexual relationships.

"I followed my instinct in making this film", the director said Wednesday during a news conference after the preview screening of his new film at Seoul Theater in downtown Seoul. "Ever since my 20s, I dreamed about making this kind of challenging film, full of free spirits".

Do not dismiss the movie "Dasepo Girl" (or Multi-cell Girl) as childish. It comes to you as an intentionally light movie as if it is claiming to be a "B-rated movie".

The film is about comic episodes of bizarre and lively high school students who fully enjoy their lives. It is based on comic strips published on the Internet written by Chae Jeong-taek whose nickname is B-rate Dal-gung. The cartoon was loved by a group of maniacs who enjoyed the harmony of the drawings which one may expect in a boy-meets-girl story cartoons and explicit jokes.

Actors from the original sitcom lend their voices to Hello, Francesca

Hello, Francesca, MBC's hugely popular sitcom, has been re-released as an animated film and a comic book.

Hyoin Animation announced recently that it is screening the animated film version of Francesca, a collaboration between Whiteline and Orange Animation Studio, at the opening of the Pucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (PIFAN) on July 13.

Completed after 10 months of production, the comic animation, based on the characters of the first season of the TV sitcom Hello, Francesca, is about a family of vampires who came to live in the world of mortals and find themselves escaping one crisis after another.

What is particularly interesting is that actors in the original sitcom such as Park Seul-gi (Sophia), Sin Hae-cheol (Andre), Lee Doo-il (Doo-il), or "Lee Kyeon" (Kyeon) also lent their voices to their characters in the animation.
