Actress Myeong Se-bin and her husband Kang Ho-seong released a joint statement today announcing that they had ended their marriage. The couple had married in August of 2007 and decided to split in January of this year.

The actress-attorney couple distributed the statement to the media to explain their positions. The statement described their emotional progress from love to indifference. They admitted that there were some doubts and troubles over their different life views, personalities, and careers before the wedding. But they decided to go ahead, believing that they could somehow work out the differences. They both apologized for disappointing their loved ones and asked for understanding so they can go on with their lives. Yoon Eun-hye, became Joinus' main model

Female fashion brand, Joinus replaced their main model from Kim Hee-seon (30) to Yoon Eun-hye (23) in 5 years. On 17th, the spokesman from IndiF (old Nasan) said "We have signed 1 year contract with Yoon Eun-hye. The contract starts from our spring season catalogue at the end of this year". Yoon Eun-hye's popularity had been rapidly increased after starring in high-hit dramas such as "Princess Hours" and "Coffee Prince".

Ever since the launching of the brand in 1983, Joinus have appointed the most popular female stars of the time as their advertising model, including Choi Ji-woo, Shim Eun-ha, Myeong Se-bin. Kim Hee-seon became Joinus' main model at 2003 and set the record of the longest model ever worked for the brand. The spokesman said "We decided to replace Kim Hee-seon because she no longer fit for the brand's image due to her recent marriage and her age".

"The Palace" Season II gets a new name

The new drama by Director Hwang In-Roi, "The Palace II" ("Princess Hours 2")got itself a new name: "The Palace S" ("Prince Hours").

"To put the copyrights issue out of our way, we need a new title for our drama, which will also have a new cast and a new story", said GROUP 8, the producer of "The Palace S" ("Prince Hours"), whose separation from Eight Peaks generated a copyrights issue because of the similarity of its new drama's title and cast to those of the original. To resolve the issue, GROUP 8 decided to come up with another drama, which will only use "The Palace" as a backdrop but will still showcase Korea as a constitutional monarchy.

"The Palace S" ("Prince Hours") means "a new start, a special story, a spin-off (the content of the new drama will be different from that of the original), and the secret surrounding the bloodline of the hero, who will be played by Se7en.

Japan’s Miyazaki Tries to Attract Korean Film and Drama Companies

Japan's Miyazaki Prefecture is making utmost efforts to benefit from the Korean Wave, or Korean pop culture craze, sweeping the Asian region. The prefecture is trying to attract Korean film and TV program production companies to the region as a way to promote its own tourism industry.

As part of its efforts, the prefecture on the island of Kyushu has decided to establish a film committee that will be in charge of the project, publish a guidebook entitled "Miyazaki LocaNavi"--a word combining "location" and "navigation"--which introduces locations where movies and dramas were shot in the prefecture, and opening a website in Korean and Chinese as well as Japanese.

The prefecture government believes that its efforts will achieve the effect of "killing two birds with one stone" because attracting Korean drama and film production companies will eventually increase the number of tourists who want to see filming locations.

Choi Ji-woo, the heroine of "Winter Sonata", is still enjoying high popularity in Japan through "Yulmugok", a TV series jointly produced by Korea and Japan. With the Korean Wave queen's continued presence in the neighboring country earning her the nickname "Jiwoohime", actress Han Hyo-joo is readying herself to join the wave of Korean stars.

Last year, when singer-turned-actress Seong Yoo-ri pulled out of "Spring Waltz", an ambitious TV drama produced by "Winter Sonata" creator Yoon Seok-ho, the producer announced 19-year-old Han as the replacement.
