Kang Ji-hwan, Han Ji-min cast as main leads for 'Gyeong Seong (Capital) Scandal'

Kang Ji-hwan and Han Ji-min have been cast to the upcoming KBS drama series 'Gyeong Seong Scandal'.

This series which will start airing on June 6th is the story of Gyeong Seong, the capital of the day, in the 1930s in a fusion historical drama format focusing on those rebelling against the Japanese government with a line of romance drawn in a bright and cheerful spirit.

Kang Ji-hwan will play Seon Woo Wan, the greatest playboy in Gyeong Seong, while Han Ji-min will draw Na Yeo Gyeong, a not so traditional female figure. Ryoo Jin will play the elite Lee Soo Hyeon who as a Chosun person rises amongst the ranks in the government while Han Go-eun will play the famous bar hostess Cha Song Joo of one of the top class restaurants.

Fans of early '90s pop music probably remember Mr. 2, a male duo who hit the airwaves with "I'm Just Who I Am (Nan danji nailbbun)" and "White Winter (Hayan Gyeoul)". Their debut album, "Mr. 2", released in 1993, is still remembered as a masterpiece after all these years, which includes songs written by Ju Young-hoon and Yoon Il-sang.

After the group broke up in 2000 as one of its members, Lee Min-wook (currently known as "Yarn"), pursued a solo career. Park Sun-woo (Seon Woo), the other member, has gradually been forgotten from the public. Though he has played several supporting roles in films like "So Cute" (2004) and, most recently, "No Mercy for the Rude", none of them have gained the attention as when he was a singer.

Park, though, has found a way to show off his singing talents and impress more people with his acting - he has become a musical star!

For Park, it took only a few minor roles to get a chance to make his mark in a major role.

Lee Byeong-heon plays Seon Woo, an owner of a bar (named "La Dolce Vita") and a lieutenant to a gangster boss (Kim Young Chul). He is entrusted with a job of looking after the boss's very young girlfriend Hee Soo (Shin Min-ah). To Seon Woo's consternation, however, the boss also orders him to kill her (and her lover) if she ever "strays". When Seon Woo catches her red-handed, though, he cannot quite bring himself to carry out his job. He lets her go... a decision with which he now puts his own life at risk.

The first half of the film advances with a languorous rhythm of a sleepy-eyed cat prowling his haunts. Ye Ji-won, 32, rocked the world last year by climbing over the wall of National Assembly, which does not allow movie-taking in its area, while she was filming the movie, "First Article in the Constitution of Republic of Korea", where she played a red-light district woman who enters an election. She's ready to rock the world once again.

She plays "Soon-i" in Director Kim Soo-hyeon's movie "So Cute", a movie with surreal or even magical touches, which is opening on November 26 in theaters. In the movie, Sooni accepts all the love she receives from a father and his three different sons from different mothers.
