The 44th PaekSang Arts Awards Sparkles with Stars

Korean TV and film stars gathered together for The 44th PaekSang Arts Awards Thursday evening in Seoul. The Awards honors filmmakers, TV actors and actresses, producers and programs that made distinguishing marks in the field of visual media arts.

In the film category, the grand prize went to "The Chaser" directed by Na Hong-jin, who also won the best new director award. "The Chaser" has attracted over 5 million filmgoers so far, winning the top-grossing film title for the first half of 2008. The best director award went to Lee Chang-dong of "Secret Sunshine" and the best picture award to "Forever the Moment", based on a true story of the Korean women's handball team. Im Chang-jeong of "Scout" was named the best actor and Kim Min-hee of "Hellcats" the best actress. Also hunky superstar Kwon Sang-woo and lovely Kim Jeong-eun won the popularity vote.

Characteristic kiss scenes in dramas, "Calmi Cuori Appassionati"

The kiss scenes are essential in a drama in describing the romantic relationships between the characters. Recently, the Wed-Thu dramas, "New Heart", "Robber" and "Hong Gil Dong" have shown interesting kiss scenes which doubled the shows' enjoyment. These kiss scenes are uniquely different in everyway as these dramas are, however the one common ground exists throughout is that they are all "Calmi Cuori Appassionati".

New KBS drama takes fusion to extremes

Actor Jang Geun-seok, 20, captured the essence of KBS's newest drama "Hong Gil Dong" when he said, "I think 'Hong Gil Dong' truly is a fusion drama".

On 2nd January, the first episode of a comic historical drama 'Hong Gil Dong' was televised, starring Kang Ji-hwan and Seong Yoo-ri.

The baton is now handed over to the Hong Sisters, Hong Jeong-eun and Hong Mi-ran. The KBS miniseries department, which fall into a slump last year hold their hopes to KBS miniseries hit script writers, Hong Mi-ran and Hong Jung-eun sisters.
