Who are three people that receive the credit for making "Rain" an actor?

Writer Lee Kyeong-hee added the title of 'actor' to 'singer "Rain"'. This writer wrote KBS "Sang Doo! Let's Go To School", "Rain"'s debut drama in fall 2003. Singer "Rain"'s agency, J-tune Entertainment (aka J-tune) is making full attempts to enter the global market through the contents business.

On 29th, the spokesman from J-tune said, "We are signing a joint contract with KBS Media, Co. and is planning a distribution of visual materials and merchandising business all over the Asia". Through this strategic cooperation with KBS Media, "We will produce various visual materials, games and off-line merchandises using vast amount of visual materials starred by Rain whose copyrights are of KBS'. And by making a full use of those videos that haven't been televised previously, the rarity of contents will be dramatically increased".

"We are targeting at every Asian countries in providing the contents to the media channels and off-line distributors".

Along with various KBS entertainment and documentary programs, Rain appeared as the main cast of following dramas, including "Sang Doo! Let's go to school", "Full house" and "A Love to Kill"....

Nowadays, it is no longer rare to see a singer taking on acting as either their second career or a main career after ending their singing business. Far too many singers are driven to acting business as if it is their final destination in their careers in showbiz.

Of course, it is great way of increasing and lengthening their popularity and competitiveness in showbiz; and a strategy of "One source – multi-use" policy, which uses one resource in various fields to maximise the profit from it.

The common thing between these singers who have half or fully turned to acting business is that when they appear in musicals, films or dramas, they use their real names even though they had been using stage names while they were in music industry.

For example, Rain maintains his stage name, 'Rain' when he releases his albums or singing on the stage; but when he comes out as an actor in dramas such "Sang Doo! Let's go to school" and "A Love to Kill" and a film "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK"...

In Korea, singers don't just sing to make a living any more. They try hard to map out a career cycle as entertainers, with the arch usually taking them into acting ventures of varying success. In soap operas particularly, some acquit themselves well. Others, however, provoke derision from Korea's merciless Netizens for the way they flounce and pout around the sets.

In fact, the majority of soap leads are played by singers today. The Chosun Ilbo asked 14 writers and producers of hit dramas who the best and worst of the bunch are. We asked them to rank the top three in each category by giving three points to the best, two to the second best and one to the third.
