This drama attempts to answer the question of whether two people -- a famous actor and an ordinary woman -- can learn to love each other in a marriage agreed upon only on paper. It also explores the meaning of the family by presenting no matter how hard the present may seem, the world is still a good place because of those who bring hopes into our lives through their presence alone.

This drama features diverse characters: considerate, caring, frank, patient, sticking to the life?s basic values. But no matter how different the personalities, everyone finds happiness in the end.

Drama's big names have gathered. Director Pyo Min-soo of "In-soon is Pretty" will direct, and writer Noh Hee-kyeong of "More Beautiful Than a Flower" and "Goodbye Solo" will write, and Hyeon Bin of "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" and Song Hye-kyo of "Full House" will act. It's an outstanding group worthy of the drama "On Air". Their work is "The World They Live In", a drama about a director's work and love. Hyeon Bin plays a promising director, Jeong Ji-oh, and Song Hye-kyo plays director Joo Joon-yeong, who has experienced directing plays and tries a miniseries. Overcoming the complications that arise from unspoken barriers within the drama field is the foundation of the story. Of course, it also ties in love into the competition of the two producers. The production company, YEG, said, "Director Pyo Min-soo, who has a prominent way of subtly expressing emotions, and writer Noh Hee-kyeong held a long search for actors who could embrace the character in the best way".

Korean pop singer and Asia-wide music star "Rain" or Jung Ji Hoon, 26, is spreading his wings to the world -- not in tour but on screen.

Thanks to his songs and charismatic dancing, followed by a modeling and acting career, he was dubbed one of the world's most beautiful people by People Magazine in 2007 and is to debut as a movie actor in a Hollywood blockbuster "Speed Racer" directed by the Wachowski brothers, director of the world-famous "Matrix" trilogy of films.

Ahead of the international release of Speed Racer on May 9, "Rain" spoke of his new acting career in Hollywood and his future plans in an interview with Yonhap News on Monday (Apr. 21).

Speed Racer is the story of a racing car driver named Speed Racer (played by Emile Hirsch) who is a natural behind the wheel and loyal to his family racing business. After turning down a lucrative offer from Royalton Industries, he finds a dirty secret that Royalton has been manipulating the race to boost profits. The only way for ...

'Koreanovelas' Fever is sweeping the Philippines

In the last few years, Korean films, TV dramas and pop music have become immensely popular abroad, a phenomenon known as the Korean Wave. This is the second in a series of essays by a select group of foreign scholars and journalists looking at the spread of Korean pop culture in Southeast Asian countries and beyond. - Ed.

The names Johnny, Jenny and Andrew may not ring a bell for Koreans, but for Filipinos, they started the so-called Korean Wave in the Philippines. They were the "Filipinized" names of the main characters in the drama "Autumn in My Heart", better known as "Endless Love 1" when it was shown in the Philippines. It was the first-ever Korean drama to air in the country.

In 2002, the Taiwanese drama "Meteor Garden" swept through the Philippines and the rest of Asia, paving the way for Chinese dramas to enter local markets. The drama was aired on the ABS-...

Pop star "Rain" will take part in an international tour to promote his Hollywood debut "Speed Racer", All That Cinema ― the film's PR agency here, announced Thursday. Also known as Bi or Jung Ji-hoon, the 26-year-old will visit six countries, beginning with Korea followed by Hong Kong, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan. He will arrive in Seoul April 20 to meet with the press. On the 23rd, he will fly to Hong Kong before joining his co-stars for the Los Angles premiere. Afterward, he will visit Berlin and London and finally Japan in June, said All That Cinema.

'Rain"s hallyu superstardom in Asia is expected to hype up the region's interest in "Speed Racer". The star became well known through his roles in hit TV dramas such as "Full House" opp...

Korea was hard-hit by the Asia-wide financial crisis in the late 1990s, which sent its economy in a tailspin. Korea's face-loving people were rather ashamed. Not too far away, fellow tiger-economy Taiwan heaved a sigh of relief that it was not embroiled in the financial turbulence. Some people in Taiwan probably were gleeful that their economic rival would be going down the drain. Little had they imagined that the Koreans would be demonstrating their perseverance in a fighting spirit, staging a rapid comeback by standing together at home and overseas while donating what resources they could - including personal jewelry - to rescue the nation's eco...

Full Honors by Rogue

M
aybe because you're with someone everyday that what was initially mere tolerance turns to enjoyment and even repressed passion, thus making it difficult for either to let go when the circumstances tell them it's the right thing to do. And just when everybody knows of the falsity of the marriage, both still hold on because in their hearts, they know the marriage had just gotten real...

A really simple plot but interesting nevertheless. What started out as a strong beginning stood at a standstill somewhere in the middle, but thanks to the actors' brilliant performance, the series came through quite magnificently. The advantage of having a simple plot is you get to concentrate on the actors' portrayals of their characters. This may be a gamble if you don't have much faith on your actors. In this series, the cast more than delivered. The acting was flawless.

Rain's insufferable bossing around complements the feistiness of Song He-kyo's character. It must have been nerve-wracking to be angry, then surprised, then sad, then charming, then obnoxious, then charming again all in one scene but Rain was able to do it with such fluidity you'd think he really had a mercurial personality. He had all the right expressions perfectly delivered at the right time. You get to appreciate the childlike, or childish, quality of his character when juxtaposed with the confidence and frankness of Kim Seong-su's character.

Speaking of, Kim Seong-su was equally brilliant in this series. His character initially came off as an astute person and he carried that quality all throughout. Seong-su never lost sight of the fact that while Rain's character is rash, his is discerning. His role requires him to be confident and forthright, which he performed with such ease, he looked really cool. Thus, when his professions of love have always been rejected by Ji-eun, his surprised look and disbelieving smile become more effective in manifesting hurt than, say, a tear or two.

Now, the ladies. I was spared the unrefined antics that has been so typical of leading ladies in romcom movies/series of late. Song He-kyo portrayed her character with intensity minus the crass, it was quite refreshing. She clearly has one of the prettiest faces in the business. I heard that before this series, she has only been doing drama. It's good that she's given projects with diverse themes for her to showcase her acting range.

The drama bit of the series rests in this one girl, Hye-won. Her scenes may be few, even far and in between, but her character can actually make or break the drama. Thankfully, Han Eun-jeong, the actress who portrayed Hye-won, performed outstandingly, the drama thus held ground.

I've watched this series several times and not once did it fail to bring a smile. Such is the appeal of this drama, and I consider it a tremendous feat considering that there isn't much going on, story-wise. In fact, the plot seemed a bit stretched that it felt like the people behind the production counted on the popularity and talent of their actors to make this series work for them. Despite the plot not being profound as I wanted it to be, this Korean series is still worth the wee hours that you're up viewing it non-stop.

10 'aja,aja, fighting!' out of 10.

Full House or Full Disappointment by Hwang_cha-huey

I
had high expectations for this dram because it had Rain and Song Hye-kyo starring in it, but after seeing it, it was a real big disappointment. All those two did for almost every episode was fight and fight which was really annoying, it wasn't funny, but it was sad, sad because it was a failed attempt in a drama that is suppose to be emphasizing comedy, romance, and drama. It was much like a sour love story gone wrong, how worse could it get? I stopped watching half way and skipped to the ending, this entire drama should've just been made into a 1 hour movie or something. This drama, I would compare to, would have similarities of "I Really Really Like You" because both don't get to the point, they forestall the drama and the romance and their comedic lines aren't funny or cleverly funny. I rate this drama as a 0 out of 10, because it just stank of failure.
