Big Bang Will Knock on Japan

The hip-hop sensation Big Bang will join the rush of Korean celebrities making entertainment headlines in Japan.

According to their agency, YG Entertainment, the five-member boy band will release a mini album, also known as an EP (extended play) "For the World" in Japan Jan.4 and will also hold a concert "Big Bang: For the World" at the JCB Hall at Tokyo Dome city in March 28 and 29. A mini album or EP is an album that has more than one song but too few to qualify as an album and usually contains 10-30 minutes of music (or up to seven songs), compared to singles (one to two songs) and regular albums (ten to eleven songs). This particular mini album will only be released in Japan and will contain hit songs such as "Lie".

Entertainment in 2007 was all about versatility. Fans could watch news anchors dance and sing, while some singers created their own shows and even starred in movies. Among these talented and ambitious celebrities, former G.O.D. members are leading the way toward true multi-entertainment.

Park Joon-hyung, Son Ho-young, Yoon Kye-sang, Danny Ahn and Kim Tae-wu are all former members of the hit five-member pop group formed in 1999 by producer and singer Park Jin-young (also known as JYP), and released hits "To My Mother" and "Lie". The group announced their withdrawal in 2004. While lead singer Kim Tae-woo is serving in the military, the other members have gone a long way from their original pop career.

While many Korean dramas attract viewers through their use of exotic backgrounds and fancy characters, renowned drama writer Noh Hee-kyeong has consistently been working on an in-depth portrayal of ordinary characters, taking a more human natural approach.

Through realistic and yet emotional lines in her works such as "Lie", "Love Like Stupid", "Confession" and "More Beautiful Than Flower", she has created a mania for "Noh Hee-kyeong brand" drama, even though her dramas have not attracted a large number of viewers.
