Jo In-seong to represent Levi's line

Heartthrob Jo In-seong will star in Levi's new Premium Line advertisements. The line, set for release nationwide in mid-August, will target consumers who want a more chic, stylish jean.

"Jo In-seong's trendy fashion sense and his upscale, sophisticated image channel the new Levi's Premium Line well", said Levi's General Manager Choi Kyung-ae.

Jo, known for his romantic roles in the 2003 SBS drama "Shoot for the Stars" and the 2005 drama "Spring Days", is also known for his impeccable sense of style, often topping celebrity fashion charts with his sleek, modern ensembles.

The trendsetter modeled the line in Tokyo in late July. World famous photographer Yasunari Kikuma shot the ads, capturing Jo in the new jeans.

Korea Drama Fest Opens in Chinju

The Korea Drama Festival 2006 will start this week in Chinju, South Kyongsang Province.

A variety of events, including drama screenings and celebrity fan meetings, will take place under this year's theme "water, light and stars" in Chinjusong and on the banks of Nam River from Oct. 26-29.

The Korea Drama Festival, organized by Kyongsang Province and the city of Chinju, was launched last year.

This year, not only have a wider range of sights and activities been prepared, but top industry insiders will be making appearances throughout the festival.

The first day will see "Hallyu" stars Kim Jae-won and Park Sol-mi, veteran actors Lim Dong-jin, Bae Jong-ok, Sa Mi-ja open the festival and take part in the follow-up event "The Star". Jo In-seong Visits Japan for Fan Meeting

Actor Jo In-seong left for Japan on Sunday to attend official fan meetings in Tokyo on Monday and Osaka on Wednesday.

Jo was greeted by some 800 enthusiastic fans at Haneda International Airport, and he waved at them in acknowledgement. He expressed his gratitude to his fans by bowing to them when they shouted out his name in unison as he walked toward an exit.

A staff member at the airport said that this was the first time this year that he had seen such a large crowd of fans gather to see a star. The airport had to bring in extra security guards and police officers to maintain order.

Jo first made himself known in Japan with his role in the drama "Something Happened in Bali", and then consolidated his status as a leading Korean star through his role in "Shoot for the Stars". ...| More
