A story about a mother who tries to protect her daughter out of love but inflicts pain instead
A mother who is like a delicate snow flower...
A daughter who is like a flame...
Dami (actress Koh Ara) achieved the top score in her high school mid-term exams again and many of her friends envy her as she can choose any top college of her choice. Her teachers assure her that she will get into an elite college. But Dami unexpectedly finds a note on her desk that said, “Dami is an illegitimate child.”
Dami’s mother Lee Kang-ae (actress Kim Hee-ae) is a bestselling novelist and her recent novel has been on the bestseller list for 2 consecutive years. A movie based on her novel was produced and brought her more fame. The press constantly request interviews from Kang-ae and she never forgets to mention how she loves her daughter more than anything in the world.
Whenever Dami asks her mother about her father, Kang-ae stonewalls her question and retreats to her library to work on a book. One day, Dami hears the sound of her dad’s voice over the phone while visiting a friend of her mother’s. When Dami’s mother refuses to answer any of Dami’s questions about her father, Dami rebels and intentionally skips the college entrance exam. On a whim, she follows her friend to an audition and is picked for the leading role. With her mother’s silent approval, things seem to settle down between Dami and her mother, but Dami begins to act recklessly and her mother harshly reprimands her. During their heated argument, Dami tells her mother that she’ll go to Japan to find her father...

Drama OSTs are evolving. Famous singers participate or the drama characters sing it themselves. The genres are also diverse, from ballads to hiphop, rock, and crossovers.
Oh Ji-ho from "Single Dad in Love", Park Yong-ha and Song Yoon-ah from "On Air", Jeong Joon-ho from "Last Scandal" have sing the theme songs themselves.
The participation of star singers in drama soundtracks is not big news anymore. Tei, Shin Hye-sung, and Yoon Mi-rae participated in the soundtrack for "Bad Love". Dong Bang Shin Ki" sang in "The Legend" and Bobby Kim sang in "White Tower" and "Devil".
The evolution of drama soundtracks originates in the decline of album sales and on, offline mediums.
In the music industry where the damage can be large, drama soundtracks are providing a way out.
The repetitive music is just the thing to create an addiction to mini series, broadcasted twice a week. The emotions from the images of the drama's story and the music mix to leave a lasting impression.

Renowned producer-director Kim Jae-hyeong, 72, resigned from the directorship position of SBS drama "The King and I" on Jan. 5.
Executives said Kim has been suffering from pancreatitis since last August and remains unwell after hospitalization. The codirector of "The King and I", Son Jae-seong, has been doing most of the soap opera's directing in his absence.
Kim is a director specializing in historical dramas. Having joined KBS in 1961, He directed many epic dramas including the first Korean epic drama "Gukto Malli" (Nation 4,000 Kilometers) (1964), "Tears of the Dragon" (1996) and "Women Rule" (2001).
He won the Best Producer of the Year in 1998 for "Tears of the Dragon". Due to Kim's advanced age, "The King and I" is likely to be his last directing work of Kim. He also is a chair-professor in Creative Writing at Dongguk University.

Super Junior, one of the most popular boy bands in K-pop, is making their big screen debut with the film "Attack on the Pin-up Boys" this month.
At first glance, the film may seem like another "idol movie" meant to show off the charms of Super Junior's good-looking members, rather than their acting ability.
However, Park Jeong-su, the group's leader who is also known as Lee Teuk, said he hopes people would not judge the film as just an "idol movie". "Since we debuted (as a group), we announced we will work not just as singers, but also as MCs and actors. I hope people will get rid of their prejudices a little, and watch us as new actors, not as singers", he said, during the film's press conference at Imperial Palace Hotel in Apgujeong, Thursday.
Since Super Junior is one of most popular groups today, there are a lot of high expectations for the film. The film, with a budget of 850 million won, is the first to be produced by S.M. Enter...| More

"A woman's heart can be stolen and mine is no exception. I think love is not somebody's exclusive property", Kim Hee-ae said.
Kim starring in the SBS drama "My Man's Woman" as Lee Hwa-young, a woman who doesn't feel guilty even after stealing a friend's husband, is no longer the person she used to be. Kim has always played the character of a married woman who loses her husband to another woman in dramas such as "Precious Family" and Snow Flower". However, her character in the new drama is quite the opposite. "My eyes are beginning to resemble those of Hwa-young which are filled with love and jealousy", Kim said on Wednesday during an interview.
"The life of Kim Ji-soo in the drama and that of mine are very similar. Sometimes I have to be pretentious to be a good wife or an exemplary mother. I get vicarious satisfaction while playing Hwa-young which allows me to break the mold", Kim added.
Kim Hee-ae has been creating a sensation by showing new dimensions of herself in the dram...| More
