Just a few years ago, Jenny probably spent her days wandering the streets, her long blond hair tangled and dirty, looking for something to eat. Abandoned by her family, her life was hanging by a thread.

But since then, she has undergone a dramatic transformation into the long-legged star in movies or commercials you see today.

This sounds, perhaps, the kind of rags-to-riches story that has often been told before. But here's the twist: Jenny is a dog.

Behind the success of the 10-year-old Afghan Hound is Igloo, the nation's largest pet management company, which now takes care of some 90 dogs of 43 different kinds like Jenny, along with two cats.

"Almost two thirds of the animals here were abandoned in the past by their original owners", said Kim Eun-jin, co-president of Igloo. "But most of them are now stars who have experience of working for films or commercials".

Lee Eun-joo, who shot to fame with her roles in the TV drama "Firebird" and the film "Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War", hanged herself in her apartment on Tuesday. She was 25. Lee's brother alerted police after discovering her lifeless body at her home in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province in the early afternoon.

Marks on the body indicated that Lee had also tried to slit her wrists. A letter written in blood and found at the scene read, "Mother, I'm sorry. I love you". In a separate suicide note, the actress wrote, "I wanted to do too much. Even though I live, I'm not really alive. I don't want anyone to be disappointed. It's nice having money... I wanted to make money".

Lee's family said the actress had been experiencing insomnia and showing signs of depression over racy nude scenes she did for the film "The Scarlet Letter", which debuted last October. They believe this was the reason she killed herself.

Actress Lee Eun-joo Commits Suicide

Popular television and film actress Lee Eun-joo was found dead on Tuesday, apparently having committed suicide. She was 24.

Lee, the star of such hit films as "TaeGukGi" (2004) and "The Scarlet Letter" (2004) as well as the recent MBC television drama "Firebird" ("Phoenix", Pulsae), was found by her elder brother in the walk-in closet of her apartment in Pundang, Kyonggi Province, where she is said to have hung herself.

Lee's mother and elder brother were with her until early in the morning, he said, and he returned to the apartment in the afternoon when she failed to answer her phone.

A note written in blood that included the words, "Mother, I'm sorry, I love you" was discovered at the scene.

While the police said the death is believed to be suicide, investigations were not formally completed by the time this newspaper went to print.
