Cinema allows artistry to soar high and far, allowing reality to mix freely with products of far-fetched imagination. However, there exists a marked difference between being surreal and just plain baffling. While visually pleasing, "Delivering Love" ("Beyong All Magic"), the directorial debut of Jo Nam-ho, is, unfortunately, the latter. The movie thoroughly disappoints, particularly since it stars some of South Korea's biggest actresses like Shim Hye-jin and Kim Soo-mi.
Unfolding in a rural village with scenic fruit plantations and quaint traditional houses, the film is a visual delight. A painter character does wonders to an old truck and other mundane spaces. But the film fails to keep the narrative on track and viewers will ultimately find themselves lost. If not, then you will be most likely be distracted by the intolerably cliched and corny script, which breaks the flow of the drama by inspiring giggles at all the wrong moments.
Director Jang Hyeon-soo will tackle the remake of "A Better Tomorrow". The classic Hong Kong action film which was originally directed by stylized action film specialist John Woo. The remake rights were obtained by Korea's Fingerprint Pictures.
JANG more recent films include "Everybody Has Secrets" starring LEE Byeong-heon. His extensive track record also includes action films. PARK Joong-hoon played the lead in "Rules of the Game", directed by JANG in 1994.
A Better Tomorrow was released in 1986 and also enjoyed great popularity in Korea. The film is one of the numerous collaborations between John Woo and his star Chow Yun Fat.

The Japanese drama, "Hero", which had a record high of viewer ratings, had Kimura Takuya come to Pusan to film on location on the 26th. Actress Choi Ji-woo, popular in Japan where she is affectionately called "Ji-woo Hime", (Princess Ji-woo), is coming back to her Korean fans.
She will perform in the MBC drama, "Air City" that will air in May and June, breaking a three-year hiatus.
Her last performance on television was in the SBS drama, "Stairway to Heaven" three years ago, in which she starred with actor Kwon Sang-woo.
She will play a heroine, "Han Do-kyong", an aspiring executive at an airport corporation who speaks five foreign languages. The heroine suffers a trauma involving her family.
"We've decided that Choi is appropriate for the role", said HB Entertainment, which is involved in the production.
The story revolves around various incidents at the airport such as drug smuggling and passport counterfeiting.
