"The Peter Pan Formula" directed by Jo Chang-ho entered the Sundance Film Festival, the world-renowned film festival for independent films.
Organizer of the festival said, "16 pieces of film including 'The Peter Pan Formula' were invited to 'World Cinema Competition - Dramatic' at the 22nd Sundance Film Festival to be opened from Jan. 19, 2006".
The Sundance Film Festival will be held from Jan. 19 to 29 in Park City, Uta, USA that is well known for a feast of world independent films and its sponsor, Robert Redford.
"The Peter Pan Formula" starring On Joo-wan and Ok Ji-young is directed by Joe Chang-ho and produced by LJ Film. The movie is a story about a 19-year old boy called Han-su's growing pain and will be screened next January in Korea. The Korean movies of "Green Chair" directed by Park Chul-soo and "The Charming Girl" directed by Lee Yoon-ki were invited to the 21st Sundance Film Festival, but they were not awarded.

Korea will see two competing fantasy film festivals next month, each presumably more fantastic than the other, after a spat with management drove the original organizer of one of them away. The Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) will last for 10 days from July 14 to July 23, but the Real Fantastic Film Festival will threaten its supremacy from Seoul.
The story goes back to the end of December last year, when Kim hong-joon, then executive director of PiFan who had more than two years remaining in his contract, was fired because the mayor of Puchon (also spelled as Bucheon) city felt Kim could not concentrate on the festival while keeping his job as dean of the School of Film, TV, and Multimedia at the Korean National University of Arts.

Eight Korean movies, including director Ryoo Seung-wan's "Crying Fist", will be screened at the 4th New York Asian Film Festival which will take place from June 17 to July 2 in Manhattan, New York. Of the 180 movies that were submitted by China, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines and other Asian countries, only the top 31 most interesting films will be shown at the festival, according to the festival's organizing committee.
Aside from "Crying Fist", the other Korean movies that have been invited to the festival are "Arahan Jangpung Daejakjeon", "A Family" (by director Lee Jeong-cheol), "Green Chair" (by director Park Chul-soo), "Marathon" (by director Jeong Yoon-cheol), "Someone Special" (by director Jang Jin), "R-Point" (by director Kong Soo-chang) and "Samaria" (by director Kim Ki-duk).

The 7th Udine Far East Film Festival, scheduled to be opened on April 22 in Italy, invites a heap of Korean cinemas amounting to a total of 12 films.
Including cinema 'Green Chair', a total of 10 movies such as 'Flying Boys', 'Some', and 'Sicily 2Km' are to be screened at the main program of this Film Festival.
The festival will show more than sixty titles from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore.
In addition to screenings, there will be daily in-depth discussions and parallel events including the tribute session for three master directors of photography from Korea , China, and Japan, and a retrospective celebrating the long history of Nikkatsu Corporation.

A total of 12 Korean films have been invited to the 7th Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, which will open on Apr. 22.
According to the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) secretariat on Apr. 15, 10 Korean films have been invited to the main division of this festival and two others invited to its special division entitled "Three Asian Directors of Photography".
The Korean films invited to the main division of the Italian international film festival include "Everybody Has Secrets" directed by Jang Hyeon-soo, "Arahan Jangpung Daejakjeon" by Ryoo Seung-wan, "Gajok (A family)" by Lee Jeong-cheol, "Someone Special" by Jang Jin, "Sisily 2 km" by Sin Jeong-won, "Gil (road)" by Bae Chang-ho, "Green Chair" by Park Chul-soo, "R-Point" by Kong Soo-chang, "Flying Boys" by Byeon Yeong-joo, and "Some" by Jang Yoon-hyeon.
