The most comprehensive retrospective yet of critically acclaimed Korean director LEE Chang-dong will be featured at the 22nd Fribourg International Film Festival running March 1- 8 in Switzerland. Along with the director's latest film, "Secret Sunshine", which won JEON Do-yeon a Best Actress award at last year's Cannes Film Festival, LEE's three previous features will also screen. Additionally, two films directed by PARK Kwang-su, for which LEE penned the screenplays, will round out the program.

LEE's directing debut "Green Fish" (1997) was selected to screen in competition at the 38th Thessaloniki Film Festival, where he was celebrated as Korea's 'new hope'. MOON Seong-geun Cast in SONG Il-gon Horror

Acclaimed actor MOON Seong-geun will take the lead role in "Sahwa" (meaning 'Royal Massacre') a horror from Cannes winning director SONG Il-gon. MOON has been a notable figure in the Korean film industry since the 1990's, when he starred in films by top new wave directors, PARK Kwang-soo ("Black Republic"), JANG Sun-woo ("Road to the Racetrack"), and in LEE Chang-dong's debut film "Green Fish".

MOON also provided memorable performances in such films as HONG Sang-soo's "Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors" and PARK Chan-ok's "Jealousy is My Middle Name". He came late to his acting career, having first spent time as a business man in Saudi Arabia. Throughout the 90's he was deeply involved in supporting the Korean film industry and served as Vice-chairman of the Korean Film Council in 1999.

A complete retrospective of critically acclaimed Korean director LEE Chang-dong will be featured at the 48th Thessaloniki International Film Festival which runs Nov. 16 – 25 in Greece. Along with the director's latest film, "Secret Sunshine", which won JEON Do-yeon a Best Actress award at this year's Cannes Film Festival, LEE's three previous films will also be screened.

The focus on LEE comes 10 year's after his debut feature Green Fish was selected to screen in competition at the 38th Thessaloniki, introducing him to local audiences as Korea's 'new hope'. LEE Chang-dong to Chair Tokyo Jury

Esteemed Korean director LEE Chang-dong will chair the jury of the Tokyo FILMex 2007 international film festival which takes place November 17 – 25 in the Japanese metropolis. The event's competition section highlights emerging talent in Asia.

LEE's award-winning "Secret Sunshine" will be presented as the closing film of the festival. Premiering in competition at Cannes this year, the film captured a Best Actress prize for lead JEON Do-yeon, and has just recently been submitted as Korea's choice for nomination in the best foreign film category of the Academy Awards. Having screened in Toronto, the film is now lined-up to screen at the New York and London film festivals.

The Tokyo FILMex launched in 2000, aiming to showcase the best contemporary Asian cinema. The event will include retrospectives, international premieres, and a symposium with panel discussions.

Korean director Lee Chang-dong, 53, will head the jury for the international film festival TOKYO FILMeX 2007, which will take place from Nov.17 to 25 in Tokyo, Japan.

His film, "Secret Sunshine" (2007), which garnered him and his lead actress the Best Actress recognition at the Cannes Film Festival, is expected to be screened as the closing film of the Tokyo film festival. "Secret Sunshine" is currently lined up to make appearances at the New York Film and the London Film festivals. And next year, the film will take its chances at the Oscars in the foreign language film category.

TOKYO FILMeX, which took off in 2000, is an annual international film festival that aims to present the best contemporary independent cinema from Asia, stringently selecting works that are noted for originality and creativity.
