Lee Hyo-lee's reign as K-pop's hottest is being challenged by singers like Ivy, Chae Yeon, and Seo In-young.
Lee sent temperatures rising in 2003 when she made her debut as a sexy singer. Many female singers have since tried to follow in her footsteps, pushing the limits of sexiness with barely-there outfits and hot dance moves.
Lee is still a top fashion icon and sought-after product endorser, but she seems to be looking for a new direction for her career. She appears in several ads as well as sizzling spreads showing off her gleaming skin and curves in fashion magazines like W and Cosmopolitan.
Earlier this year, there was a backlash against her sexy image. Her recent mini-drama "If In Love... Like Them" failed to draw in audiences. Lee has also not been paying much attention to her music career, only releasing a digital single album last March.
While Lee struggles, several female K-pop singers are making their move. Some are goi...| More

"I'll seduce Japanese fans with my sexy looks", promised Lee Hyo-lee, revealing her strategy for cracking the Japan market. Lee was speaking at a press conference on Monday at the Hotel Okura Tokyo in Japan ahead of the launch on Fuji TV CS of her soap "If in Love... Like Them".
"There are a lot of talented female singers in Japan, but I think my bright and healthy image is my trademark", she said. "I bring spontaneity and naturalness to my performances, instead of simply following a script. Wouldn't Japanese men like it if I appeal to them with sexiness? Sexiness is my weapon".
When asked why she didn't enter the foreign market earlier, Lee said, "A great opportunity arose when I moved to a new agency. Before, it seemed like a bad idea to toil for years as an unknown overseas. It'll be easier to enter the Japanese entertainment industry once my drama is broadcast in Japan".
Lee didn't seem to mind being compared to Koda Kumi, one of Japan's top pop divas. "Being compared with...| More

Japan's Fuji TV network is showing extraordinary interest in sexy Korean star Lee Hyo-lee.
Most of the Korean celebrities who are popular in Japan are men, such as Bae Yong-joon, Lee Byeong-heon, Song Seung-heon and Kwon Sang-woo. Only a few female Korean stars are well-known there, including Choi Ji-woo and BoA. Because most of the Japanese fans fueling the "Korean wave" are female, it has mostly been men who have surfed the wave to popularity in Japan.
Fuji TV, however, has decided to air Lee Hyo-lee's musical drama "If in Love... Like Them" on its cable channel and will closely watch how she does. The network has invited Lee to Japan to help promote the show, and is prepared to give her the VIP treatment.
During her stay in Japan, Lee will be provided with the same high-end hotel and services afforded to top-level foreign celebrities. Fuji TV will also film her five-day trip, from arrival to departure.
Lee's management agency said, "When Lee visited Japan in the past, ...| More

So, it came as no surprise to many when Calvin Klein Jeans picked sexy fashion icon Lee Hyo-lee as its first ever model for Asia. Her ads for Calvin Klein Jeans will be released this month. Judging from the initial photographs, the ads will show an edgy but more sensual side of Lee.
Lee made a splash in her debut as a Calvin Klein Jeans model at the Calvin Klein Jeans and Underwear Spring 2007 party at the Papertainer Museum in Olympic Park, southern Seoul, on Wednesday evening.
Wearing black jeans that showed off her famous curves and a fitted tank top, Lee performed three new songs from her digital album. She opened with a romantic ballad "Chansori" (Nagging) and followed it with a mid-tempo tune, "Don't Love Her". However, it was her sizzling dance moves for "Toc Toc Toc" that had crowd up on their feet.
