Song Yoon-ah is famous for being sweet and sentimental, and that is a reason why she is always popular among fellow actors. Even during the interview, actress Eom Ji-won stopped by without hesitation to say hi.
And now she is taking the challenge to transform. Other than her 'evil' role in "Mister Q" back in 1998 and the movie "Jail Breakers - No. 815", this character is probably her largest change.
Song Yoon-ah will be playing the ever so confident and fearless top class scriptwriter Seo Yeong Eun in the television drama series "On Air" which is to start airing on February 27th.
"There is a scene where a top actor comes to meet the writer to apologize for turning down a role, but Seo Yeong Eun tartly says, 'Why did you come see me if you're not going to take the role', straightforwardly being displeased, even though for an actor that is the most respectful way to turn the offer down. She is that confident, has much pride, yet arrogant".

The summer season has been dominated by Hollywood blockbusters, but a wide collection of Korean films are lining up for a release during the Chuseok holiday in September.
The holiday, which will effectively last from September 22 to 26, is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year at the local box office. With many big hits having been launched during Chuseok in past years, attention is focusing on which of this year's films may have the potential to break out.
Local distributors CJ Entertainment, Lotte Entertainment, Showbox, and Cinema Service have each lined up a film for release, while Hollywood branch office Fox will also distribute one Korean title.
CJ's selection is "The Happy Life" by director LEE Joon-ik, who has acquired star status in Korea after box office smash "The King and the Clown" and word-of-mouth hit "Radio Star" in 2006. What would it be like to see Hollywood stars replacing local actors in new versions of popular domestic movies?
The answer can be found in the upcoming Hollywood film "The Lake House", the first domestic remake film titled "Il Mare" (Siwolae).
With the increasing interest in local movies overseas, international film studios have bought over 20 copyrights to South Korean films since the late 1990s to produce remake versions of them. The only seeming virtue of war seems to be that it enriches the soil of narrative experiences, which explains why there are so many Korean hits dealing with either the Korean War or its aftermaths. Out of the top 10 all-time most successful Korean films in terms of box office earnings, half of them are such films including "Taegukgi" (2004) and "Welcome to Dongmakgol" (2005).
Another promising contender for the list is still yet to come this spring, a film titled "South of the Border", which is about a North Korean defector Seon-ho (Cha Seung-won) who cannot forget his dearest lover Yeon-hwa (Jo I-jin) left behind in the North. But he marries a South Korean woman, Kyung-ju, (Shim Hye-jin) upon hearing the news that Yeon-hwa married in North Korea, which later turned out to be untrue.
