12,000 Fans attend Ahn Jae-wook's Concert

Singer Ahn Jae-wook, who made his official debut in Japan in front of 3,500 fans at the NKH Hall on March 31, 2006, held a series of other concerts later that year in Osaka and Tokyo. Ahn also performed in four major cities in Japan in June 2007, including Yokohama, Sapporo and Nagoya, and personally met his fans later at the biggest concert hall in Japan. Ten thousand fans flocked to the Tokyo concert but even more fans gathered at this 2007 concert.

The concert was a celebration of the release of his single albums in Korea and Japan. In Korea, the album was released under the title 'To My Love' and in Japan, 'To You'. The album contained three songs: the title track 'Is This the End', 'Goodbye' and 'She Is'. Ahn performed 'Goodbye' in Japanese specifically for his Japanese fans. The artist had previously released his best album in Japan.

One woman chooses to become an illegal immigrant to pay for her son's hospital fees. Another is pushed into forced labor after her passport is stolen in a foreign country. Still another is virtually sold into matrimony to a man from another country whom she does not know.
The stories are sad. But what makes them more tragic is that they are true, and happening at this very moment around the world.
The Women's Film Festival in Seoul chose migrant women as its major focus this year. Among the series of documentaries, there are nine made by migrant women themselves, in which they talk about their lives in rural Korea after leaving their homes to marry Koreans.
Over 17 days, women from Vietnam, the Philippines and China documented how they adjusted to Korean life. They are planning to be present on the days of the screenings and meet the audience for a special "Master Class" session the festival will include.

9th Seoul Women's Film Festival to Open Thursday

Under the slogan of "See the World Through Women's Eyes", the Women's Film Festival in Seoul (WFFIS) has helped improve the understanding of women's issues during the past eight years.

But, if you're under the impression that the festival is a boring and instructive series of feminist lectures, you're mistaken. In fact, the event has filled over 90 percent of its seats during past festivals and has attracted a diverse audience with interesting films and various other programs.

The festival, in its ninth year, will kick off this Thursday and run through April 12 at the Artreon Theater in Shinchon, northern Seoul.

"Our main concern is to maintain the balance", Kim Sun-ah, the chief programmer of WFFIS, said. "We try to offer a range of interesting films as a festival and at the same time deal with current important issues for women".

Concerts to Rock Hip-Hop Fans This March

Hip-hop fans have a lot to be excited about this month, with hip-hop concerts by their favorite artists scheduled to rock them. This month's scheduled performances include a solo concert by Yang Dong-geun and a show featuring Epik High and fusion group Clazziquai.

Popular actor and hip-hop star Yang has been drawing a lot of attention, as it is his first solo concert.

In Taejon on March 24, Yang will perform with Leessang, Tiger JK and T. His concert will be divided into four acts _ The History, New York Street, With Friends and Finale.

After the Taejon concert, he will perform in Seoul on March 31.

Titled "YDG Another Drama", the concert will be held at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park in Seoul. His friends in the hip-hop world such as DJ DOC, Dynamic Duo, Bobby Kim and Buga Kingz will join Yang on stage.
