Synopsis
The nine-tailed fox is a mythical shape-shifting creature which can become a human being in its 1000th year if it eats the liver of a human being. A family of such foxes open up a circus and transform themselves in the hope of capturing human beings. One day, there occurs a strange case of torso murder which becomes the biggest issue of their day, and the fox family is caught up in the middle of it. Will the family be able to make their thousand-year dream come true?

Chuseok Events at Lotte Cinema
Why not enjoy traditional Chuseok games at the theater? Lotte Cinema is offering moviegoers not only the latest films but also games in its multiplex theaters, Sept. 24-26.

 Director KWAK Gyeong-taek returns with "a LOVE", a dramatic love story about unrequited love. KWAK previously concentrated on masculinity in often violent settings. JOO Jin-mo plays the protagonist whose great love for PARK Si-yeon's character leads him to break the law for her. When he returns, she is in a relationship with another man.
KWAK helmed "Friend", one of Korea's most successful films. "Friend" portrayed a group of friends with at the heart of the group two boys who turn to a life of crime in different criminal organizations, ending in an unavoidable confrontation between the two youth friends. YOO Oh-seong and JANG Dong-gun played the lead roles. JANG and KWAK also worked together on "Typhoon", about a North Korean pirate threatening to strike South Korea.

Between last summer and this summer, a number of musical and music-driven Korean films were released, defining an important new trend towards the genre for local audiences. This month the 3rd Jecheon International Music and Film Festival (JIMFF) showcases that trend, bringing 7 music-themed Korean features to the lakeside event in North Chungcheong province.
Highlighted are last summer's musicals, the kinky high-school comedy Dasepo Naughty Girls ("Dasepo Girl") by Lee Jae-yong in a new Director's Cut version, and "The Ghost Theater", a musical-fantasy by debut director JEON Kye-soo. From Fall '06 are LEE Joon-ik's "Radio Star", an uplifting drama about a fallen rock star (PARK Joong-hoon) who finds fulfillment and fame on the radio, and the "The Fox Family" a full-tilt musical and the feture debut of screenwriter LEE Hyeong-gon.

The founders of major Korean film industry player MK Pictures, director KANG Je-gyu, CEO LEE Eun and president SHIM Jae-myeong, announced that they have sold their shares, worth 29% of the company, to a group of five investors. The group, headed by KIM Young-kun, paid US$16.3 billion for a controlling stake in the company.
MK Pictures, which put its shares on the stock market only 3 years ago, has in its catalogue some of the defining films in the rise of New Korean Cinema. Included are KANG Je-gyu's landmark local blockbuster "Shiri" and his follow-up "Taegukgi", as well as PARK Chan-wook's "JSA - Joint Security Area". Recent titles by MK include "A Good Lawyer's Wife", "Bloody Tie", and "The President's Last Bang" and "The Fox Family".

Officiating in Los Angeles at the opening of the first representative office of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) outside Korea, Chairperson Ms. An Cheong Sook today announced the line up of Fellows and Mentors for the second KOFIC Filmmakers Development Lab aimed at emerging filmmakers of Korean and Korean descent in the diaspora.
The Filmmakers Development Lab chooses five emerging filmmakers from submitted scripts. These Fellows are matched with individual Mentors drawn from the film industry in Korea and the United States. The Fellows and Mentors spend a week in Hawaii in one-on-one sessions developing their scripts. The Fellows and their projects are then presented to producers, financiers, production companies at the Independent Feature Film Market in New York in September, and at the Pusan International Film Festival in Korea, in October.
