Moon So-ri to Sit on Pusan Film Fest Jury

The versatile actress Moon So-ri will sit alongside international movie heavyweights on the jury of the 11th Pusan International Film Festival.

Following her screen debut in "Peppermint Candy", Moon took the award for Best New Performer at the Venice Film Festival in 2002 for her portrayal of a cerebral palsy victim in "Oasis" . She also transformed herself for her roles in "A Good Lawyer's Wife", "The President's Barber" and "Bewitching Attraction".

The jury president is veteran Hungarian director István Szabó, who shot his first feature film "The Age of Daydream" at 26 and came to international attention with "Mephisto" (1982), which took the Oscar for best foreign language film. He followed with "Sweet Emma, Dear Bobe" in 1992, which scored the Berlin Film Festival's Silver Bear. Actress Moon So-ri plays a temptress in her upcoming film "Bewitching Attraction", a totally different spectrum from that which she showed in the 2002 melodrama "Oasis" in which she played a woman with a cerebral palsy.
A poster for an upcoming movie immediately catches people's attention. A woman wearing a short skirt is bending over revealing her cleavage. Its title reads "Bewitching Attraction (Yogyosu-ui Unmilhan Maeryok)".

It might take you time to recognize the actress and it may take you even more time to recognize her as the woman with cerebral palsy from the 2002 melodrama "Oasis".

A range of spectrums that Moon So-ri, 31, has shown playing all walks of life in her acting career is surely her true "bewitching" attraction.

People around the world enjoy Korean film festivals in September

With the growing popularity and increasing success of Korean cinema abroad, a number of Korean films will be screened in varied film festivals all round the world especially in September.

The Korean Film Council reported that Korean films are screened not only in international film festivals but Korean film festivals, which exclusively show Korean films, in several places. Some of the film festivals are organized by Koreans residing abroad who wish to share their culture.

One such event is New York Korean Film Festival ( http://www.koreanfilmfestival.org ). Now in its 5th year, New York Korean Film Festival presents 15 of the latest and most exciting titles in contemporaryKorean cinema, including 'The Big Swindle' and 'The President's Barber.'
