Lemon Rain, which produced the drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal", revealed that they are about to create the drama "My Sassy Girl". A script contest for the most attractive storyline compared to the original will be held from the 1st of February to the 30th of March.
"My Sassy Girl" is the movie that brought Cha Tae-hyeon and Jeon Ji-hyeon to stardom. It's been over ten years since it first came out but it is still being remade all over the world in places such as China and Japan, proving the power of Korean cultural content.
Transforming once again as a TV drama, "My Sassy Girl - Drama" should bring another wave of mania with the help of many creative and significant writers.
There is no differentiation between rookies and experienced writers in this contest and collaboration work is also allowed. The title should be "My Sassy Girl" and contestants must submit synopses for 16 episodes and full scripts for two of those. The synopses must include production goals, main characters and the overall summary. There are no special limitations for the content but it must be in the spirit of the movie "My Sassy Girl". Submissions will be accepted versus over email or via post.
A Lemon Rain spokesman said, "We are waiting for fresh ideas and depth to create a TV drama that outshines the movie. We hope many creative people can take part and create a new "My Sassy Girl" that takes over all of the Asian markets".
