After actress So Yoo-jin and singer Rhymer said they would wed in September, focus is shifting to singer-actor couples. So Yoo-jin and Rhymer admitted to their relationship and news of their marriage was released on the 10th.

A recent singer-actor couple who took the spotlight was Kim Jong-min and Hyeon-Yeong. "Jumong"'s lady Han Hye-jin also has been dating singer Naul.

In a poll of top male and female entertainers to spend Black Day with, Jang Dong-gun and Kim Tae-hee placed first.

Hite Beer Premium Stout held a poll on their homepage and 1701 male and female singles in their 20s and 30s answered.

Jang Dong-gun received 26.5% of the votes, and Jo In-Seong (26.3%), Kang Dong-won (10.7%), "Rain" (10.7%), and Gong Yoo (9.1%) followed. Kim Tae-hee received 30.4%, outshining Jeon Ji-hyeon (12.1%), Yoon Eun-hye (10.3%), Kim Ha-neul (9.1%), and Ha Ji-won (8.8%).

A representative of Stout said that through this poll, they realized that males in their 20s and 30s are devoted to Kim Tae-hee.

The road to getting a leading role in Hollywood is difficult. "Rain", who was cast in "Ninja Assassin", is trying hard.

TOKYO, April 17 (Yonhap) -- A Japanese animation producer has refuted claims by a South Korean company that it has the go-ahead to make a film adaptation of a hit Japanese animation series.

Japanese daily the Mainichi Shimbun said Leiji Matsumoto, well-known for creating Japanese animation movies Space Battleship Yamato and Galaxy Express 999, was upset by the recent reports that Eight Peaks, a Korean production company, is to make a film adaptation of series "Captain Harlock".
The Korean company successfully turned South Korea's popular cartoon "Gung" ("Princess Hours") into a hit television drama series in 2006....

The premiere of "Speed Racer", a film by the Wachowski brothers in which singer "Rain" makes his Hollywood film debut, will be held in June.

The film premiere, to be held at the Tokyo Dome on June 25, will invite 35,000 audience members. The film will be screened on the world's largest 37 meter-by-17.5 meter screen. Word is out that the Wachowski brothers are preparing to submit an application to the Guinness Book of World Records requesting the screen be included in the book's latest edition.

When the premiere of the film "Pearl Harbor" was held at the Tokyo Dome in 2001, 30,000 audience members watched the film on the then-largest movie screen of 35 meters-by-14.5 meters.

Speed Racer is the first film to be directed by the celebrated "Matrix" creators in five years. The film is based on a Japanese animated film entitled "Mach Go Go Go". The story revolves around a young car racer who dreams of glory and success.

Hyeon Yeong has been invited as a guest on a popular Japanese TV program.

Bomnal Entertainment, Hyeon Yeong's agency, announced yesterday that the model-turned-actress was invited to be in "Ojisans 11", a variety program on NihonTV. "She left this morning for a three-day trip which includes taping of the program and media interviews", they added.

"Ojisans 11" is NihonTV's poster program and broadcast all over Japan. It is a program with eleven hosts who provide practical information for everyday life.

The program's producers wanted to introduce Hyeon Yeong's "rabbit finger diet" to their audiences. The curvy celebrity's agency also added, "We are planning on selling her diet DVDs in Japan as well".

Hyeon Yeong is currently the host of MBC's "Section TV Entertainment News", KBS 2TV's "Happy Sunday", "Competing through Music", and MBC DramaNet's "The Three Female Talk Show". She plans on working actively in both Korea and Japan this year.

9th Jeonju International Film Fest Opens May 1-9

Before Busan welcomes Asia's largest film event Pusan (Busan) International Film Festival (PIFF) each fall, Jeonju, the traditional arts hub of the nation, becomes a cinephile's paradise in the spring.

The 9th Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) brings 195 movies from 40 nations beginning May 1 through 9. JIFF, while large in scale like PIFF, offers a more intimate and homey environment.

While most international film festivals usually boast the number of world or international premieres, JIFF focuses on sharing high quality films, both old and new, that moviegoers may not be able to see outside of a film festival, festival programmer Jeon Su-wan said in a press conference earlier this month.
