Lee Dong-wook, Stars in music video for no guarantee out of loyalty

Actor Lee Dong-wook starred in the music video of his friend Suho's official first album for no guarantee.

He showed his loyalty by filming the music video for the title song 'As Much As We Loved' on the 23rd.

Lee Dong-wook, who is currently starring in MBC "Bitter Sweet Life", said, "I'm happy for the release of Suho's official album as if it's my own".

The director of the music video was Seo In-kyo, who also directed for t-Yoon Mi-rae, Sharp, Country Kko Kko, and Cherry Filter. Director Seo revealed that he was able to convey the detailed expression of recently separated lovers.

Ahn Yong-joon, admits relationship with Seo Seung-ah

Actor Ahn Yong-joon (21) admitted to have a relationship with Seo Seung-ah, who is four years his senior.

A representative of his entertainment company said, "He is seeing her with good intentions. After the scandal, Ahn Yong-joon said that he was sorry and that he regarded Seo Seung-ah as more than a friend. They are still young actors, so regard them favorably so they may focus on their careers".

Ahn Yong-joon, born in 1987, gained popularity in MBC "Jumong" as Jumong's son Yoori. He is currently starring in SBS "I Am Happy".

"Yi San" the next Hallyu character following "Dae Jang Geum"

Although MBC "Yi San" hasn't finished yet, it will air on GTV in Taiwan on the 22nd during prime time, from 9 pm to 10 pm. It is already showing signs of being the next Hallyu work.

Director Lee Yoon-jeong ("Coffee Prince"), 'Male lead "Triple" to be Jeong Il-woo, female lead undecided'

Director Lee Yoon-jeong of "Coffee Prince" revealed information about her new drama "Triple" to come out at the end of the year.

Her next work is receiving much interest, for it will outline the lives and love of figure skaters. It's another experimental work following last year's "Coffee Prince", which showed the life of a barista.

The cast of "Triple" was especially anticipated, and Director Lee said, "We'll have a general outline by the end of May". Currently, Jeong Il-woo is to be the male lead, and the female lead is likely to be Min Hyo-rin.

Director Lee said, "It is true that Jeong Il-woo will be the male lead. He will be a short-track athlete, but the female lead hasn't been decided yet. It's true that Min Hyo-rin is a possibility, but it is still early to decide. It seems decisions will be made by the end of May".

Director Lee finished lecturing at Korea University's 2008 Press and Broadcasting Employment Presentation on the 13th and suggested at a new work.

Korea's Top Celebrities Take Part in Relief Campaign to Help N. Koreans

Thirty Korean celebrities, including Lee Joon-ki, Ko Hyeon-jeong, Han Ji-min, Chae Si-ra, Bae Jong-ok, Jeong Il-woo and Kim Je-dong, are participating in a video shoot to help starving North Koreans.

The international relief group JTS said on May 27 that Korea's top celebrities are taking part in a relay video shoot to ask fellow South Koreans to help their hungry neighbors in the North.

JTS said the videos are quickly spreading through major Internet portal sites and that other celebrities have also expressed their wish to take part in the campaign.

Writer Noh Hee-kyeong, who also took part in the event, said she wanted to help as soon as she found out that people in the North are starving. She added that "starving children do not know politics". ...| More

Super Junior members set to make move into musicals

Music entertainment giant SM Entertainment Group announced recently the establishment of an affiliate that will focus on businesses related to the musical genre -- and they're bringing super-sexy boy-band Super Junior along for the ride.

With former comedian and singer Pyo In-bong taking the helm as co-CEO, SM Art Company -- as the affiliate is called -- will pursue businesses in organizing and creating diverse performances including musicals, as well as operating theaters, SM Entertainment officials said.

"With the artists and global networking that SM Entertainment has, along with our well-organized performance producing system, SM Art Co. plans to become one of the best performance entertainment businesses in Asia", Pyo said at the press conference in Seoul on May 28.

Korean movies leap into box-office fray

In late April, Iron Man arrived in the Korean cinema, smashing the box office into very profitable pieces. In mid-May, Prince Caspian took the baton and kept up the pressure on Korean competitors. Last weekend, whip-wielding Indy joined the Hollywood-only party, roped in plenty of movie tickets sales.

The bombardment of Hollywood films dragged down the share of Korean films to a record low. But the bleak development was widely predicted since only a couple of new Korean releases were made. June might be slightly different, as eight Korean movies are set for release.

"Girl Scout", directed by Kim Sang-man, will hit theaters on June 5, featuring well-known actors such as Kim Seon-ah, Nah Moon-hee, Lee Kyeong-sil. The film will test whether the audiences still have an appetite for a chase-the-money drama with fewer funny moments than publicized.

Variety Praises The Good, the Bad, the Weird

KIM Ji-woon's highly anticipated 'oriental western', 'The Good, the Bad, the Weird', had its world premiere at the 61st Cannes film festival this month where it was given a Gala Screening at a packed 2400 seat theater. Following the end credits, director KIM and stars SONG Kang-ho, JEONG Woo-seong and LEE Byeong-heon received a 10-minute standing ovation from the enraptured audience.

In the days following, US entertainment trade magazine Variety, offered the first review of the film in the mainstream press, beginning with a glowing intro: "East meets West meets East again, with palate-tingling results". Writer Derek Elley praised the film, comparing it to Sergio Leone's classic, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly for its "striking widescreen visuals" but adding that it is a "much more intense, visceral, full-contact experience than Leone's -- and, as such, 100% Korean".
