Choi Jin-sil, Jeong Joon-ho, and Jeong Woong-in star together in "Last Scandal", a romantic comedy and special MBC weekend TV drama (Scriptwriter: Moon Hee-jeong, Director: Lee Tae-gon-I). The show reached its highest viewership rating of 19.2% in its 4th week on the air (TNS).

The first episode of "Last Scandal" garnered a viewership rating of 19.2% and every week, its ratings have rise by 1 to 2 percent, which is a solid performance considering that it is competing against dramas on other networks that premiered earlier than "Last Scandal.

The growing popularity of "Last Scandal" in the last four weeks was made possible by the brilliant acting performances given by Choi Jin-sil and Jeong Joon-ho along with an excellent script written by Moon Hee-jeong, whose previous works include "The Daring Sisters". The talented Director Lee Tae-gon-I makes the characters come alive in a marvelous way.

Korean TV and film stars gathered together for The 44th PaekSang Arts Awards Thursday evening in Seoul. The Awards honors filmmakers, TV actors and actresses, producers and programs that made distinguishing marks in the field of visual media arts.

In the film category, the grand prize went to "The Chaser" directed by Na Hong-jin, who also won the best new director award. "The Chaser" has attracted over 5 million filmgoers so far, winning the top-grossing film title for the first half of 2008. The best director award went to Lee Chang-dong of "Secret Sunshine" and the best picture award to "Forever the Moment", based on a true story of the Korean women's handball team. Im Chang-jeong of "Scout" was named the best actor and Kim Min-hee of "Hellcats" the best actress. Also hunky superstar Kwon Sang-woo and lovely Kim Jeong-eun won the popularity vote.

Top star "Rain" is starring in Hollywood blockbuster "Speed Racer", which cost 300 billion won ($US 300 million), and will reveal his face to the whole world. He plays a handsome character with a big part, not distorted because he's Asian.

Oh Yeon-soo plays Hye-jin in the new weekend special "Bittersweet Life", who leaves for Japan by herself after seeing the dishonesty of her husband. Joon-su (Lee Dong-wook), who saw her from the airport, has the same plans as her, and their feelings grow and continue to a kiss.

Han Jae-seok, who came back with SBS "Lobbyist" after a long break, will be in a love triangle with Kim Ji-soo and Lee Ha-na in his next work.

"Woman of the Sun" will air after KBS "Three Dads, One Mom" in May, and Han Jae-seok was chosen for the leading male role.

This drama is about the love and revenge of popular announcer Shin Do-yeong, and her half-sister Yoon Sa-weol, who live completely different lives. Kim Ji-soo will play the announcer who seems to know everything, and Lee Ha-na will play her sister, who is abandoned because of Kim Ji-soo.

SBS drama "On Air" is winning the hearts of viewers as it continues, and it is becoming tense as the love lines were revealed in episode 13.

"On Air" has also given unexpected fun as famous stars, such as Lee Hyo-lee, Jeon Do-yeon, Kang Hye-jeong, Lee Seo-jin, and Kim Min-joon, appear as cameos. In episode 13, comedian Jeong Chan-woo starred as a 'comical fortune teller' and gave lots of laughs.

Director Sin Woo-cheol and writer Kim Eun-sook's personal relationships played a big role for the fun cameo appearances.

Park Si-yeon and Director Shin Woo-chul are very close, and Lee Cheon-hee and writer Kim Eun-sook went to the same school. Lee Seo-jin, who worked with them in SBS drama "Lovers", and Jeon Do-yeon agreed to appear as a cameo with no hesitation.

KBS will be airing the special reality youth drama "Jungle Fish" for 'family month'.

A jungle fish is a fish that lived in the African beach but was dropped into the jungle by a whirlwind. It hints at the situation of present-day youth who suffer from entrance exams to return to the beach (the future).

The drama will reenact last year's scandal of leaked test forms for Gimpo Foreign Language High School's and this year's scandal of leaked problems for the national scholastic assessment test.

The form of the drama is solving the scandal with a personal blog. It will also be like a documentary, using real clips from news and internet videos, and street interviews.

Park Bo-yeong, who was the younger version of Koo Hye-seon in SBS "King and I" and Min-ji of the movie "Forever the Moment" will star. Hwang Chan-seong from MBC sitcom "High Kick!" and singer Kim C will also join.

Actress Park Si-yeon was in a car accident while moving drama filming locations on the 18th.

She was moving for filming of MBC drama "Bittersweet Life" when she was involved in an accident. She is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital emergency room.

A representative from her company said, "The car that Park Si-yeon was in collided with the car in front. There weren't big injuries but her jaw was injured and she is in a state of shock".

"We will join filming as soon as she recovers".

The new drama "Bittersweet Life" is planned to air in May, and she will be acting with Oh Yeon-soo and Lee Dong-wook.

Rookies and vets compete for kudos and cash

A week from now the Ninth Jeonju International Film Festival is scheduled to kick off, its mission to search out creative films from around the world and give audiences an experience unavailable at most movie theaters: the chance to see experimental films.
One of the main events is the international competition that selects the festival's best film.
Twelve films have reached the final stage of the contest.
The movies were chosen from 1,204 submissions, including 815 from South Korea and the rest from overseas.
Sponsored by Woosuk University and Daum Communication, the festival's top film will be awarded the Woosuk Award plus a cash prize worth $10,000.
Second place gets $7,000 and the Daum Special Jury Prize.
