The Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) is geared up for its 13th edition with a promising line-up of 19 genre projects. The Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) has announced the selection for the second edition of 'It Project' – what it calls the "world's first-ever exclusive genre film project market".
It Project will be held July 19 – 23 during PiFan which runs July 16 – 26 in the bustling satellite city of Bucheon, located conveniently between Seoul and Incheon airport. Of the 19 projects, 17 are feature films and 2 are animations. The market provides one-on-one business meeting opportunities with Asian/international film producers and key investors as well as cash awards and post-production support to advance filmmakers' projects.
Korea is represented well at the market with several exciting projects. Director Kang Hyo-jin ("Punch Lady", 2007) will present his latest, "Survivor". Promising young filmmaker HA Jun Won will pitch his debut feature "The Arsonists". Other Korean directors presenting projects are Abraham LIM with "Soul Station", Kim Byeong-woo with a project with the working title, "Burn the News!" and HAN Yew-kwang with "I am Real".
