Singer Sean and actress Jeong Hye-yeong, who are known for their charitable activities, are donating W130 million for university students struggling to pay for tuition, the Holt Foundation said Wednesday.
The couple have been goodwill ambassadors for Holt International Children's Services since 2007 and will donate the entire proceeds from the sales of their essay collection on love and family. The book has sold 130,000 copies since it was published in May 2008.
"A few days ago, I was deeply saddened by the news of a university student who died in an accident while working hard in a supermarket warehouse to earn money for tuition", Jeong said. "I hope the money reaches those in need".
