2007 Cultural Contents College Joint Workshop held

Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Ko, Seok-Man) hosted the 2007 Cultural Contents College Joint Workshop-a joint workshop for college students who wish to work in the cultural-contents industry-at its Cultural Contents Center in Sangam-dong last November 23.

Aiming to share information on cultural-contents education and seeking to develop a creative culture, the workshop was held along with a conference, an exhibition, and various other events.

Participating in the conference were Shin, Cheol, CEO of Robot Taekwon V, and Choi Jae-Won, CEO of Barunson Films, who delivered keynote speeches on the current conditions and future of the cultural-contents market as well as on the current trends in cultural contents.

The workshop also hosted a joint consultation meeting by inviting the human-resources officials in major cultural-contents companies, including the film production company CIDUS FNH, the animation production companies Sean Pictures and Flying Feed, and the game producer Buruxo. One-to-one interviews and image-making consultation services were offered.

At the exhibition hall, the portfolios of educational institutions and local cultural-industry research centers specializing in cultural contents were put on display. After the workshop, the Cultural Contents Specialization Association held a meeting where the ideas and opinions of each college were discussed and information was shared among the colleges supported by KOCCA.

"The workshop was participated in by some 300 college students from 20 colleges", said Kim, In-Jae, Director of KOCCA's Human Resources Team. "Presenting the future direction of education to college students, the workshop offered these students an excellent opportunity to experience various educational programs that they could have learned much from".
