2PM: 'We Are Proud of Being Beast Idol Group'

Members of 2PM said at the press conference held before a large-scale showcase held in Japan with 20,000 audience MEMBERS, "We created the term 'beast idol' in Korea first, so we are very much proud of being the 'beast idol group'".

Star male idol group 2PM held a press conference at the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo, Japan and delivered their plans for advancing into the Japanese music industry. Nichkhun said, "We really appreciate having this opportunity. Japanese fans have come to Korea to cheer for us up until now, and we will enthusiastically perform for them in Japan from now on". Chan Sung said, "The most important thing is to introduce 2PM to Japan. We are eager to sing our songs and show our performances in Japan as soon as possible. I also want people to look closely at our individual members".

Taek Yeon was asked about the term "beast idol", and said, "We first created the term 'beast idol' in Korea, and we are very much proud of being the 'beast idol' group. We will repay our fans for their great love with our masculine images and best performances Now and Forever". Joon Ho also said, "We have come to Japan as a 'beast idol', so we will try to show off a perfect performance". Concerning their first showcase in Japan entitled "2PM 1st Contact in JAPAN" to be held at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on December 8, Woo Young said, "We want to be recognized as the most hardworking singers. We have come to Japan to meet the challenge of becoming the most beloved and recognized singers in Japan. We will show our best performance during the showcase at the Kokugikan". Joon Soo revealed his mindset, saying, "We do not want to lose this good opportunity for ourselves. We want to become a group that makes people's hearts beat faster and at the same time, we want to put ourselves in people's minds by presenting images that they will remember whenever when they think about 2PM".

Around 1,000 fans came to the Haneda airport to celebrate 2PM's visit to Japan, and around 200 news reporters gathered and competed to cover them during the press conference, which reflected the high popularity of and interest toward 2PM in Japan.

In addition, 2PM's debut DVD in Japan entitled "Hottest-2PM 1st Music Video Collection & the History", which had been released on November 24, ranked atop the Oricon daily chart, and more than 20,000 copies had been sold during the first week of its release. 2PM's DVD had recorded the best result among K-POP male groups by ranking fourth on the Oricon weekly DVD rankings.
