Media says that he personally visited U.S. embassy and handed in certificate of renunciation.

Ok Taecyeon, who moved to Boston in 2000 with his family, got permanent resident status as he finished both middle and high school in U.S. But after he took JYP audition, he came back to Korea and seriously considered joining Korean army.

An official from JYP said, “Ok Taecyeon gave up his PR card for army. He got public service worker grade but he hopes to be in service as a regular soldier. He tried to hide this news since he thinks that joining army is the job that all Korean men must finish.”

As many celebrities who tried to avoid army were revealed, his choice increased his image as 'wild idol', once again.

On the other hand, 2PM successfully finished their showcase in Japan by drawing more than 25,000 fans.
