Actor Jung Woo-sung has been cast as gladiator for period action movie 'Attack Of Strange Object'

Actor Jung Woo-sung has been cast as the lead for the new film, 'Attack Of Strange Object'. Director Sin Jeong-won of 'To Catch a Virgin Ghost', 'Chaw' and 'Ghost Sweepers' will direct the film.

'Attack Of Strange Object' is based on the real story that happened during the 22nd year of King Jungjong's reign when the king had to migrate to a different palace away from a strange object appeared in the first palace. The film depicts a deathly fight of the people on King's side against the strange object and the Hun-gu faction.

Jung Woo-sung took the role of the male lead, Yun Kyeom. He will play the loyal subject for King Jungjong, who investigates to discover the secrets behind the strange object and get rid of the Hun-gu fraction who conspire treason against the King.

The director said, "Yun Kyeom is an attractive character compared to "Maximus" of the movie, "Gladiator" and "I couldn't think of anyone else than Jung Woo-sung for the role".

After Jung Woo-sung read the scenario, he became interested in the movie for it is an unprecedented film depicting a monster during Joseon era. He was so fascinated with the character, Yun Kyeom that he had a meeting with the director right after reading the scenario and accepted the offer.

He is curently engaged in practicing martial arts using the sword and bow custom-made for the movie.

'Attack Of Strange Object' will start filming this February.
