Actors, Directors to Record Song About Screen Quota

Members of the local film industry will get together and record a song in support of the screen quota system.
Film People for Alternative Measures, a civic group in support of maintaining the quota system, will record "Screen Quota Yondaega", a song written by musical composer Park Chon-hui, in a Seoul studio on Monday.

Among the 20 participants are actors Ahn Sung-ki, Park Joong-hoon, Kim Tae-woo and Park Hae-il; directors Kim Ki-duk, Park Chan-wook, Bong Joon-ho and Yim Soon-rye; and representatives of such film companies as Sidus Entertainment and Myung Films.

The song will be used in various commercials and videos and will be distributed on CD. It will also be available for download at the group's homepage (www.screenquota.org).

The group is opposing the government's decision to consider changes or reduction in the current screen quota system, which mandates theaters to show local films 40 percent of the time.
