After five years working together, actress Lee Ji-ah and her agency Keyeast Entertainment have decided to not renew their contract. In a scene reminiscent of the star's shock secret marriage at 19 and subsequent divorce from rock singer Seo Taiji last year, Keyeast announced Jan. 11 that the two parties will go their separate ways.
The contract between the star and agency, which is run by Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon, ended on Dec. 31. A representative from Keyeast announced that both parties had agreed that a renewal was unnecessary, explaining, "There was no dispute or conflict, but rather we both agreed that a change was needed to benefit both parties".
Keyeast said that the agency and its talent have been through a lot, especially in the last year with the divorce settlement – yet Lee has emerged as a more determined person. Keyeast wished the starlet all the best in her future endeavors and said that it would "help her out as she looks for a new agent to represent her".
Local media reported that as a celebrity without an agency to represent her, Lee is currently being approached by various management companies.
