After five years working together, actress Lee Ji-ah and her agency Keyeast Entertainment have decided to not renew their contract. In a scene reminiscent of the star's shock secret marriage at 19 and subsequent divorce from rock singer Seo Tai-ji last year, Keyeast announced Jan. 11 that the two parties will go their separate ways.
The contract between the star and agency, which is run by Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon, ended on Dec. 31. A representative from Keyeast announced that both parties had agreed that a renewal was unnecessary, explaining, "There was no dispute or conflict, but rather we both agreed that a change was needed to benefit both parties".
Keyeast said that the agency and its talent have been through a lot, especially in the last year with the divorce settlement – yet Lee has emerged as a more determined person. Keyeast wished the starlet all the best in her future endeavors and said that it would "help her out as she looks for a new agent to represent her".
Local media reported that as a celebrity without an agency to represent her, Lee is currently being approached by various management companies.
