Animated film 'Sorry, I Love You' sold to Japan for 8 million yen

The Korean animated drama film 'Sorry, I Love You' is exported to Japan for a record contract price of 8 million yen.

G&G Entertainment, which is producing the animated drama film of the same title, announced on March 29 that it sealed a contract with CCC, which has the largest distribution network in the Japanese video and audio industry for the distribution of the animation 'Sorry, I Love You (Movie)'. A spokesperson from G&G said that the animation was sold for 8 million yen (about 80 million Korean won, about USD 80,000), a record-breaking amount that is considered the largest deal ever earned by a Korean animated film exported to Japan. The company added that the price is the minimum guarantee.

Exporters of Korean animated films usually find it difficult to enter the Japanese market. In this case, however, the animated film was sold even before the completion of the production. "The quality of the original drama was so high that the animation film production team had to take extra care to complete even higher-quality visuals. In particular, we are planning to produce an official soundtrack album for the animated film, which is rare", said Mo, Sang-joon, the film's producer.

The animation, 'Sorry, I Love You (Movie)', is to be shown in a 30-minute episode where about 13 minutes feature the highlights of the original drama and the subsequent 17 minutes introduce a new story that is set one year after Mu-hyuk (So Ji-sub) died and Eun-chae (Lim Soo-jung) committed suicide.

'Sorry, I Love You' is scheduled to be completed by the end of May and to be showcased via a Korean portal site sometime in early June.
