Austrian Director Michael Haneke's "Amour" has taken the highest honors at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival.
This is the second time Haneke has won the Palme d'Or. He first took the top prize in 2009 for his film "The White Ribbon". Amour deals with the issue of euthanasia based on a sad love story of a French couple in their 80s.
The best actor prize was given to Mads Mikkelsen for his role in Thomas Vinterberg's movie "The Hunt". The best actress award was given to both Cristina Flutur and Cosmina Stratan for their roles in the Romanian movie "Beyond the Hills".
Korean director Shin Su-won's "Circle Line" won the Circle-plus award in the mid- to long-length movie sector.
