BTS became the first Korean act to make the list, which honors the top 50 "people in business, entertainment, finance, politics, and technology and science, whose 2018 accomplishments were particularly noteworthy".

U.S. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, Royal Dutch Shell CEO Ben Van Beurden, Nobel laureate in physics Donna Strickland and U.S. singer Taylor Swift also made the list.

"In June, BTS became the first Korean pop band to top Billboard's album charts with 'Love Yourself: Tear', and then [they] had another No. 1 in August with 'Love Yourself: Answer', achieving an unprecedented level of success in the U.S"., Bloomberg wrote.
