The forum runs from Sept. 2nd to 4th at Paradise Hotel and Nurimaru in Busan.
The forum is hosted by those in charge of content industries of the 3 countries. They include the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, the Ministry of Culture of China, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI). Co-organizers are Korea Creative Content Agency, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Korea, Digital Content Association of Japan, and Busan Metropolitan City. Among chief delegates from the 3 nations are Shin Jae-min, vice minister of culture of Korea and his counterparts Ou Yangjian, vice minister of culture of China, and Toshiyuki Takei of METI.
Major programs of the forum are as follows: opening remarks by chief delegates from Korea, Japan, and China, presentations from the governments and the private sector, breakout sessions on 4 genres, adoption of agreement between chief delegates, master classes, and biz matching. Among them, the adaption of agreement and master classes are likely to be new driving forces behind the forum given that they are newly suggested programs.
The agreement contains details about cooperation projects designed to produce concrete results from the forum. As for the master classes, prominent figures of the content industries of the 3 nations are invited to share their opinions and insights about contents which touch the world.
Especially, lectures for the class will be delivered by Kim Dong-ho, the director of PIFF (Pusan International Film Festival) and Masakazu Kubo, executive producer at Shogakukan and the Tokyo Anime Center. Mr. Kim established PIFF in1996 and has nurtured it into an international festival since then.
As executive producer of the internationally successful Pokemon movies and TV series, Kubo is recognized as a master in the global content industry. The master classes will be held in the Grand Ballroom of Paradise Pusan on Sept. 3 in the morning. Pre-registration is necessary for participation. (E-mail: content2009@ioconvex.com)
